Mike Lombardi is a big fan of Belichick's. Not sure if they have background working together.
All that said, I think McDaniels is probably a good coaching candidate in about 2017. Seems to me that he needs to mature a bit more before he is given another shot at being HC. I'm also shocked that it's the Browns, given that they already had a disastrous experience with Romeo Crennel. For them to try another Pats coordinator, and one who failed so miserably so recently, seems...unwise. Their fan base will have their long knives out from day one. |

The browns had the worst nickel corner in the league in Chris Owens. They torched him. And Craig Robertson played like Crap for most of the year. That's why the team struggled on 3rd down. That and the offense giving the ball up over and over and over. This had nothing to do with Horton. |

They have always been close. This is why. |

Ah, right. The real issue here is that Belichick is unique. You can't really just get a piece of him by taking someone that works with him in that organization. You'd think after the multiple failures that folks would be more accepting of that fact. We'll see I guess. McDaniel's is too young for his book to be completely written after one failure. |

The only one who comes close, is Bill O'Brien. Fair points. |
how bad of a dumpster fire is the Browns if McDaniels doesn't even want to coach there
