Be tough, love what you do even when you ****in hate it.

It was in the low 50s today, thought I heard a chopper fly over until I realized is was just the woodpeckers having a field day on one of the cedar trees.

My new profession is rock relocation and I am getting pretty good at it.

Right now is pretty crazy for me too
I work Full time and I am in school 12 hours - and I am a father of six.

We have also been in the middle of a kitchen and bathroom remodel as well as landscaping the yard. To be fair I have had a lot of family help with the house stuff, but school is kicking my ass.

I'm taking the summer off to enjoy the kids and get more done around the house and re focus on my job - which I do love BTW.

Ora et Labora my friend..

The key for me is to know you get out what you put in. I work and work and like this week I had enough money to goto Royals spring training. So if you want a better life, you have to ring the bell early and stay late. I probably could cut back my hours but I would rather travel and do something good with my titanic work ethic.

Why Not? 03-27-2015 09:04 AM

I agree with Demonpenz. It's about self care. I work my ass off with my business and I have two little boys who operate at 90mph all the time. It's imperative that I take some time for myself evey week. Gym, softball, weekly poker night, playing a little dfs. A few things that I make sure I do along with getting a sitter a couple times a month so my wife and I can go out. I consider those things as important as work and make them a priority as well. Works out pretty damn good.

I'm currently redesigning a 60+ acre site that sits adjacent to one of the metro's busiest intersections....

No stress.

I left my house Saturday morning at 6:15 am to be on my first property at sunrise, around 7:10 am. It was bitter cold and windy all day here, also had a small squall of snow flurries.

I saw 11 properties all over the NoVA and SoMD area PLUS returned my rental car and waited just over 3 hours there while the car repair shop finished replacing my power steering return hose.

I returned home at 7:40 pm exhausted and $680 poorer from the rental car and car repairs!

I have more 6-7 more properties to see today on Sunday and am waiting for the temps to rise. It's only 28 degrees now!

I need a day off so bad..........:tinfoil:

scho63 04-08-2015 01:11 PM

Today is the 45th day in a row I have worked. I have to train a new employee on Saturday and properties to survey with proposals to do on Sunday. Next week I have a big industry trade show for one full day that we exhibit at plus I help with setup the day before.

I have FINALLY scheduled a day off next Friday the 17th to go back to New Jersey to visit friends and family. I'll play a round of golf and hit the beach to bask in the views of the waves. :thumb:

It will be a total of 53 straight days I will have worked......CAN'T WAIT!

Anybody who has over 5000 posts and says they're so friggin busy is a LIAR !

Except for me, I work all the time 365 days a year. Day and night . 7 days a week. 24 hours a day. 48 hours a day on holidays. And that all in one week.

Water park. No one ever regrets building a water park.

I don't think this is my busiest time ever, but I'm just about to dig out of a top-three period. The first three months of this year have been an extended sprint, but as a business owner I'm happy about that.

Now.

Two teenage girls. One that needs to be taken everywhere. The other just started driving. (thank god)

Teaching 8th grade. Finding a way to deal with inheritance. Will spend most of the summer away from my family cleaning out my parents house.

We go on vacation to do NOTHING. Literally NOTHING.
I run all the time. Why would I want to do that on vacation?
