I came out to LA to be a "Rock Star". Unfortunately, I came out in 1993, just before the "Death" of the industry.

I ended up working for both Universal and Paramount's music division, which was awesome. I learned the music business inside and out and was an exec when I left in 2004.

The intention was to get into film and TV immediately but life got in the way. We bought a house that needed a massive remodel from top to bottom, decided to travel and start a family. I didn't get a chance to follow my "dream" until late 2010.

I attended a networking party and met several emormously successful guys and really hit it off with one guy in particular. As it turned out, he had earned $500k plus per year for a decade through music libraries and commercials. The guy had "the" life. His royalties will continue far beyond his lifetime and barely even worked anymore.

Anyway, he suggested I get into the same business. I followed his advice and while he introduced me to several of his contacts, I began watching reality TV to find out which libraries were "hot". I began making notes and contacting them via email the next day. Unfortunately, most said it would be at least 90 days after submission before I'd receive a response. Much to my surprise, they all contacted me within four or five hours.

My wife and I began hearing my music on TV within weeks. I've been very fortunate and have placed music on more than 1,400 episodes of network and cable TV in the past 15 months, all part time while I've been the primary caretaker of our 2 year old as well as my wife's cancer ordeal.

Thanks for sharing. Hoping the best for your wife and fam. I would've dmed this but not sure how on tapatalk.

Knew something had changed, the gang was supposed to be on Carolla's podcast and their pulling out was the first official act of Sony pulling back last night.

Lucky [well, residue of design since he's a regular guest] for them, they co-booked David Wild of Rolling Stone so they could discuss some of the inside skinny of what was going on.

They have to just be delaying and not cancelling release right? The last couple Rogen movies made $100M+ in theaters. And if they're too scared to release it in theaters, why would releasing on PPV, DVD, etc. be any different? They can't just be turning their backs on all that $ can they? Something fishy here.

No one is threatening to blow up people's homes that happen purchase on DVD or PPV.

While I fully disagree with Sony's decision, no one can say for certain, one week from Christmas, that bloodshed wouldn't have occurred in some of the nation's bigger cities due to this release.

One more thing to keep in mind is that the hackers also retreieved the new James Bond script and threatened to release it on the internet.

The budget for Bond 24 is over $300 million dollars versus $45 for this film.

I think Japan got scared and pulled the plug.

Aries Walker 12-17-2014 11:29 PM

Except that the Bond script is rather early in production, so it would likely be changed if not replaced before shooting. Also, no amount of doing-what-they-want will keep those guys from releasing that script. If they want to, they will, if they haven't already.

This, I think, was mostly the fear of a bomb going off at a theater showing this movie. That would be a nightmare scenario if there ever was one; a movie theater responsible for a mass terror attack, possibly on US soil. Even if it was only a one in a thousand chance, that's a frightening prospect.

And that's what's happening: frightening. They're terrified, meaning terrorist tactics are working. Again.

Dude, filming started last week.

It'll be released in November 2015.

I'll be more than happy to answer any questions but it would be beyond "douchy" for me to start a thread about me.

:D

Yes, I know. The script wasn't up-to-date, though - it was an earlier version.

Yes we can. I can say for certain that nothing would have happened. Literally 100.0000000000%? Well no, but so close to it, that the odds of a supervolcano from Yellowstone killing most of North America on the same day would have been comparable.

Well, that's a given. Lines always change somewhat when actually filming takes place but the script is as done as it can be before filming.
