Take the best player available. I'd even concede a very small dip in talent level if you need to draft a position of need. I trust Reid/Dorsey to make a competent pick.

Don't go full-on "Tyson Jackson" on me though.

Half the board will melt down no matter who we pick. Everyone will see what they want to see...

The regular fan base will accept it immediately. Half of CP will rationalize any first round pick within the week. It happens every year. A week after the draft and everyone thinks the team has drafted 3 immediate starters who will lead them to that mystical first round playoff win.

Oh. This

The Chiefs had their pick of ANY player in the draft, and three years later we're still debating if he can become a quality starter.

If any other organization had drafted him we'd ALL be calling him a bust.

I hated the pick. I still do. It was a bad pick for 1.1. That is not the argument here.

But Jordan has been completely worthless. Fisher hasn't been good, but he hasn't been nearly as bad as people want him to be. He's been below average if anything.

Hoping for Agholor.

Ehhhhhhh. That's a bit much.

I disagree. If he had been drafted by the Bucs or Panthers or Jets or Browns, no one on Chiefsplanet would even know he exists at this point.

And unlike Lane Johnson, Dion Jordan, Chance Warmack, Dee Milliner, Barkevious Mingo and Tavon Austin, Fisher has had legitimate reasons for not becoming the player he should be at #1, mainly playing out of position for a season and playing injured for the better part of two seasons.

2015 will be the first season in which Fisher will be able to participate in the Chiefs offseason program. I think everyone expects his level of play to rise based on more muscle mass, participation and repetition. If his play doesn't improve this season, then he's fair game.

The other guys listed, maybe outside of Mingo, appear to be pure first round busts.

Lane Johnson has been a beast. But you can replace Johnson with Jonathan Cooper.

true

This is a big season for Fisher. His first healthy and with a full offseason training.

His lack of strength is no shock consider the shoulder injury and lack of ability to workout yet.

everyone should cross their fingers that it makes a big difference because we need him

The thing that is going to help fisher is grubbs. People underestimate how much having a competent guard next to you is.

Yes Sir

LT is hard enough in the NFL but when your fighting injuries and hot garbage right beside you near impossible. But he really has no excuses this year he he has got to look better and I believe he will.

We really need the left part of our line to be solid because the rest is in shambles.

Kush at center?
Allen at RG?
Stephenson at RT?

Lane Johnson is a right tackle. Choosing a right tackle, even if he becomes the best right tackle in the league, at #4 overall, is terrible value.

I didn't include Cooper because he missed his rookie season due to a broken leg. He hasn't lived up to expectations but he gets a mulligan in my book.

I think last year would be called "shambles." This year, worst case scenario, you get a more seasoned Fulton and Allen at RT. Fanaika and Stephenson may end up being upgrades. Our right side will feel a lot more like 2013 than 2014. Not ideal, but not necessarily in shambles. Kush is the real wild card.

On AA they did a mock draft and having Chiefs take a RB in the 2nd round.

I'm thinking 2 at a high level and possibly a 3rd. His 4th and beyond we'll start to see him slide. He didn't play his first couple seasons and missed almost all of 2011. For being this "QB guru", Reid has been pretty great at evaluating backs so I'll be comfortable whenever he decides to move on from JC.
