The bet is for one year of signature rights and you mow my yard 4 times against my $50.

lol! deal. write this deal down.

At this point, Kruger's a Vet Minimum type player. If Dezmon Moses is unable to play Week 1 or is put on the PUP, Kruger's a guy to take a look at for sure.

If Moses is ready, I'd pass on Kruger.

If you could sign Kruger for a vet min, you sign him. He's one year removed from a good season, at a position we need depth at. With that being said, I don't see him signing for the minimum.

I'd almost rather put in Dadi Nicolas over Dee Ford at this point.

He had quite a few pressures last year on a shit team, and is only 30. I wouldn't give him alot, but he's probably getting more than the min.

Kruger would arguably be our 2nd best rusher at this point

I specifically remember many people calling him a bust after a string of games where he was getting torched by TE's.

When you say many, what number are you thinking about? Seeing a few people saying it over and over again doesn't mean that a lot of people were saying it.

Plus, signing Kruger doesn't change the comp picks...would help Hali heal properly, send a message to Dee Ford...help the run defense and pass rush in the early part of the season.

I wonder why Hue cut him.

BossChief 08-29-2016 09:59 AM

Haha remember when Carl was the GM....a guy like Paul Kruger would be a major signing.

Kruger was making about $8m from what I saw. Money move, Browns are setting up next year. Not sure he'll be a vet min guy, teams will want him.

On another note, Geoff Schwartz was released.

Yeah; I figure some team will throw a couple million his way.

What did Flowers get with San Diego? About $3 million? Kruger wasn't as good as peak Flowers and Flowers had more in the tank when released than Kruger does, IMO. But Kruger will get in that general neighborhood, IMO.

Offer Kruger vet minimum with some bonuses in there. Number of games started.....number of sacks.

Put him in Houston's spot. Hali and Ford can split reps 50/50.

Damn wasn't Schwartz pretty decent when he was here?

Just FYI - Kruger started 15 games last year so if you give him incentives based on games started, they'll hit the cap immediately as they'll be considered likely to be earned. That will do nothing to help fit him in our cap.

And if you base it on sacks when you have a guy in Ford you desperately want to see succeed plus Hali and a possible Houston return, he probably won't be eager to come on board. Especially not if you put him at the SOLB slot where his pass rush opportunities are likely to be substantially reduced over what he could manage on the weak side in this scheme.

Kruger's probably not happening unless he really wants to come here and sees an opportunity for a below-market 'make good' deal that could propel him into next season's FA market. He has to know that the strong side isn't the best shot at that.
