Hating on Smith because you are tired of living in the shadows of another organization and bleed all over this place when in reality, your team can compete for a SB

The Chiefs have truly competed for the SB once since 1970

This season isn't over. We have the 3rd best record in the AFC. We can still win the division and get 2nd seed. We have beaten several probably playoff teams on the road this season. We are a SB contender RIGHT NOW, by any reasonable definition of the word.

You know, I've been thinking about that a bit lately, and I actually think that there is something to that. Obviously, we all would say that the Super Bowl is the goal, and I'm sure that everyone (for the most part) would still be ecstatic if we won the Super Bowl even after getting up by 10 points in the first quarter and then winning the game 10-7 on a missed, last-second field goal.

But at the same time, there is something inherently satisfying with not only winning the game, but stomping your opponent into the ground. I think that's WHY everyone drools over the Tom Bradys and Peyton Mannings of the world - they have the capability to not only win, but make their opponents look foolish in doing it.

When we watch Alex and Andy do their thing, we really enjoy the wins, but it almost feels like the end of a UFC fight that went five rounds but ended in a tight judges' decision. A win is a win, but an epic uppercut knockout sure would have been more fun.

Anyway, I'm definitely more of a "wins matter than style points" kind of guy, but I acknowledge that those who are sick of HOW the Chiefs play the game right now aren't completely insane.

Damn. 13 guys that made it as either pro bowlers or pro bowl alternates.

Because we've all seen this shit before. The Chiefs pile up regular season wins and then piss down their leg in the playoffs. We lose games to teams we have no reason losing to (Bucs and Tits) and it costs us at the end of the year. This 2016 team has that feel to a "T".

I can't imagine anyone that is really paying attention to the Chiefs right now has any illusion in their heads that they can make a dent in the playoffs, particularly the way this offense is performing.

Believe me, I'd much rather win ugly than lose pretty, but let's not kid ourselves on what this year's team is. They've had no less than three miracle wins, four if you count the Chargers just laying down in the opener. Like I said, we've all seen this act before multiple times, and I'm not letting myself get my hopes up yet again just to see them bumble it away when it's crunch time yet again.

No, they are not. It's quite painful. Problem is, people just assume that the Chiefs will.. no matter what.. continue down this path in the do or die playoff games ahead. Maybe yes.. maybe no. I'm going to take the cautious wait and see approach.


For the regular season.. being conservative and going 10-4 is hard to really bitch too much over. Painful, yes. Effective? clearly yes.

Come playoff time, they need to not **** around. No more BS. The Patriots and Colts playoff game have GOT to resonate through Andy's mind.

If Andy does the same shit in the playoffs... and they lose?!? That, to me, says a meltdown CP party of defeat seems... appropriate.

Alex Smith just isn't that enjoyable to watch he isn't that good but he does enough to get by with the team doing all the heavy lifting.


I believe more times than not Chiefs have won games in spite of Alex Smith.

Also everyone thought Rex Grossman was a shitty quarterback but he got (his defense willed) the Bears to the Super Bowl so anything ANYTHING is possible.

Remember from the fifty anything is possible.

This man knows Chiefs football.

Anywho, I'm just going to chalk this up to, "we tried to get some QB's to come play this stupid game, but most of them said "**** you, I'm going on vacation with the family after the season is over".

Yep; that's what we're going with over here.
