On a side note, I tend to side with masses here with no offense to Dane. There's alot that goes on inside the front office of any business, and I just don't see Lynch as overly qualified. He's going to understand negotiations, he was in them as a player. He's going to understand the football aspect having played the game. Outside of that, this is a guy with an awful lot of learning to do on the fly. They best have experienced directors in the pipeline to work with him.

Sure, no one will literally die when he sucks, but the chances that he WiLL suck are much higher than, I dunno, hiring someone who has done more than JUST play.

It's not that he played is the issue. It's that he has never been in management, anywhere, EVER, and has no experience whatsoever in the front office of an NFL team. I'd think that those things would make you alot more likely to succeed.

It's not impossible that he succeeds, but it seems a terribly strange choice given his utter lack of qualifications.
