Hes Jonathan Baldwin. His draft status just doesn't matter that much right now. Besides, weren't you on the other side of this conversation with me yesterday?

I'm glad we got him but folks are way overselling him and are way too fired up. I'd bet he's out of football in 2 years. A 5th for that gamble is fine but not world altering.

Giving up a 5th for Jonathan Baldwin would have been considered a terrible move for another team back when we unloaded him.

Ehhhh....I wouldn't be so sure about that. Ehinger is backing up the OG spots and he's not on PUP anymore. We still have Fulton to back up OG and OC. I highly doubt they're keeping 2 swing tackles.

Exactly. And if Witzman sticks (I think he can), there's simply no room for Reid.

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Chiefs using future draft picks to build present roster- Patrick Mahomes, Reggie Ragland, Cam Erving.

The Franchise 08-30-2017 12:14 PM

If the Chiefs are smart.....they take Erving and decide on one ****ing position for him. Build him up as a swing tackle. The Browns kind of ****ed themselves by moving him around a bunch.

A 2019 4th for Ragland was an amazing trade.

Erving for a 5th was a nice trade that, sadly, provides an upgrade to Jah Reid and Jordan Devey.

The Chiefs have done a tremendous job coaching up late round offensive talent (LDT, Ehinger, Fulton) have done a very nice job with Fisher and Morse, not to mention Witzmann, a small school UDFA.

I think Erving will be fine as a backup.

Hopefully, Veech can trade away some guys that will be cut and get some of these draft picks back.

Yeah I just can't get too upset over losing late picks. Chances of them hitting on the pick is low anyway

Glad you got Erving instead.

Wouldn't be surprised IF Veach is trying to pull that off as well even though we probably can't afford him.

His coaching in Cleveland has been fine. He's probably just bad.

That's my vote as well. This doesn't make make a lot of sense to me, but whatever

DaneMcCloud 08-30-2017 12:18 PM

Veach, go get Matt Jones and call it a day

JakeF 08-30-2017 12:18 PM

Our draft in 2018 as of right now?

2nd
3rd
6th
6th (comp)

staylor26 08-30-2017 12:18 PM

Another good trade by Veach

The Franchise 08-30-2017 12:19 PM

If he sucks? Oh ****ing well. We attempted to coach up someone that apparently was talented at one time and it only cost us a 5th round pick. Cut him and sign someone else to do the job. If it works out.....then we got a swing tackle that's young and talented.

Nothing lost here.
