You have to understand the nature of this board, and really the internet itself. There's no excuse for some of the things said about your son but I'm sorry you had to read it all. Word to the wise, there's nothing here for you but pain. Best of luck to you and your son. |

Yea that ACL injury really killed him, he was pretty good before that, early in his career he played really well in the slot. He just hasn't been the same since the knee injury the question is how much of that is mental because he doesn't look like he lost speed.

If the "All In" Poster is indeed Phil's mom -and I had some doubts if you go back and read the thread from the end of October- I was convinced it was a mult pretending to be Phil's mom- but if she is indeed Mom, I'm apologize for my harsh comments. I did not mean to direct any vitriol at you, as I was convinced it was somebody pretending to be you. I have definitely had issues with Phillip's level of play, and this is not Pop Warner. It's the NFL. Bad play draws criticism. Good play draws praise.
That said, I have not been the only singular poster on the CP critical of Phil's play over the past four years. The reality of the situation is, that in four years, Phil has been injury prone, has only had one interception, and in the last two years given up multiple game changing -or outright game losing- DPIs or pass completions to the opposition. The national media agrees. On Phil's current Roto World listing, I've pasted a copy of it below. Read the player evaluation. Revis was signed mostly as a "Last Straw" reaction to Phillip giving up a fourth down pass play in overtime to the New York Giants for 34 yards, which led to the game ending field goal immediately thereafter. Losing to the Giants was a hard pill to swallow. And the board is correct that its only a game, and sometimes I forget that. I will say, I've seen many, many players come and go, and many players cost the Chiefs playoff victories because they were targeted by Elway, or Manning, or Flacco, or Luck, or Roethlisburger, etc etc etc, and I really worry about another home Playoff Fiasco this Saturday. But Phillip will not be playing, so he will not be involved with our ultimate fate, good or bad. And if you really are Phil's mom, best of luck to you and your husband, and I hope Phillip has a good life after football. http://i65.tinypic.com/2lxtnhi.jpg |
Very nice George

Thank you George and I am who I say I am. I always expect fans to be upset when players are struggling. I just didn't understand your harsh words to me for picking up for my son. That's what mom's do. You have every right to your opinion about Phillip as a person and as a player. I appreciate you taking the time to finalize this conversation. But i will adamantly disagree with you that Phillip is done playing. You are a fan of the Chiefs but I'm a mom :)

I've enjoyed reading your post. Some made me really laugh. I looked so forward to the excitement before every game whether I was at the game or not. My office and car is totally decked out in Chief's stuff. By reading your post i felt like a part of the Chief's family. We are going to stomp the Titans on Saturday! God bless and take care...peace out

Oh boy. Is this going to turn into another Kirstie Tynes thread now? I am, like George, a bit skeptical that this poster really is his mom. Maybe she is, but how would we be able to know for sure? There have been people come on this board pretending to be someone they're not before. I remember a poster that claimed to be Jason Whitlock. Many believed it to be him. But I have my doubts on that one too. Either way, this is a Chiefs discssion board. Anyone is welcome to post here and give their opinions about the Chiefs and their players. I don't think that Gaines is quite as bad as some here act. He's never going to be an all pro, but he's no Jamaal Fleming either. So yes, I would like to see an upgrade at his position, but let's be honest here. He was our 4th corner behind Peter's, Revised, and Mitchell. How many teams have anything better at the 4th corner position?
