The popular opinion I read online is that vBulletin 5 is trash and that some forums have just shut down after "upgrading" to it due to all of the confusing "features" and bugs. You'd be amazed at how many vB 3.8 forums (like ours) are still floating around out there.

If I had all the money, time, and expertise, I'd probably vote that we move to Xenforo, but it would take a lot of reworking to make things kinda sorta similar to what we have now, and there are some features that I don't even know if we could keep (e.g., rep, ignoring threads, etc.).

Probably alot of users that switched to unstable builds and had issues but who knows. They just released a new stable in November so maybe that helped resolve some issues.

It seems like phpBB would be the better way to go. For starters, it's free so no more money out of anyone's pocket other than time. I'd imagine you can develop it however your heart desires between the supported extensions and via JSON.

Uhmm....Dark Mode not functioning for anyone else? Just checked my settings and Dark Mode is still set as my default, but uhmmm....the classic skin is currently displaying.

Agreed. Oh, can we also get the YlP thing taken care of? Having to read that stupid shit (that it has been censored to) has to be more annoying than YlP.. Even the old, lifeless, joyless, useless pieces of shit that complained about it have to agree at this point, no?
