He's the king of hypocrisy.

Last week, when Missouri's numbers were around 14, he kept telling people on the phone that, even if that were true, it's only "1 in 750,000" people (actually, uh, that's 1 in 440,714 people). Two days later, he's still saying the same BS to clients. I informed him when he got off the phone, that he may want to update his figures, since it was then 1 in 221,000. "oh, well, that means I'd need to come into contact with one person in Springfield." Yeah, if only one person around here had it. He then does the flu comparison.

This is the same man who bitches about everybody who acts like they know something about law.

Yes. About 75% at home and 25% at the office. Very fortunate for sure, and praying for all of you who are getting hit by this.

My wife and company has been deemed essential. They make plastics, chip trays, fluid and air filters. Have places around the world. But some factories are having issues getting people to come to work. The China factory is at 90%.

why the hell would any school district claim to do that???

I have done some online teaching for weather days and days I am absent. It works, but also is not the same as being there. No one can expect that. Admin should understand that.

If kids are not doing it at school, they will not do it at home. And I will not have to deal with their BS every day.

Yeah, my wife teaches first grade, and she has to provide lesson plans and materials and once a week a video explaining how to do it. She also has to call each student once a week. Apparently no recourse if the kid doesn't do a damn thing. The parents that were going to work with their kids and get things going are going to do it. The ones that aren't, still aren't.

Apparently the school is still providing sack lunches. I'm not sure how that's going work infection-wise, but apparently that's the plan.

I am working but furloughed every other week for 8 weeks. Layoffs likely coming after that. Also likely to get the shaft on my promotion this year. Tired of working in aircraft, I realize this is a crisis but my employer didn't waste a second to hang us out to dry. Other manufacturing places are still paying their employees. I am a full stack web developer in Wichita, KS. If anyone knows of remote opportunities or places hiring in Wichita, PM me please!

However, the other attorney (the main partner) thinks that this whole thing is a hoax, so he will not shut down unless mandated to do so, and he'll gripe the whole time.

This sounds exactly like my boss. He doesn't believe that any of it is real.

Yep.

Yesterday was one of the few days in my life I was happy to go to work. Extreme boredom has set in.

Providing plans etc is not a big deal for most. Calling...NO WAY.

Just so she knows-you can get a fake Google number so her kids do not get her real phone number.

She teaches first grade. I don't think she's that worried about it. I don't know if she gives it out, but our daughters kindergarten teacher did.

Mecca 03-24-2020 09:37 AM

The school my kids go to did not prep properly at all, they're busy trying to find out if the kids even have internet access by sending emails.

Many ISP's have opened up their wireless connections. Good, unless you are in a rural area.

But kids do have hotspots on phones. Time to use them.

neech 03-24-2020 09:40 AM

I'm still getting my 40 hours but it seems its a week to week thing with no guarantees. I think I'll be still at work though my company has deep pockets.

Plus right now I'm deemed essential.
