He had the worst second half I have ever seen from a quarterback in the playoffs, and I honestly question spending 500 million on him and locking him in for 10 years. This is the worst loss I can ever recall as a sports fan, especially with the rest of the football gladly cheering it on. This is the end of any alleged dynasty and the team needs to make drastic changes. Time to shuffle EB off to college ball and push Spags into retirement. Let’s hire Fangio for DC, and elevate Kafka. Let Clark walk, get rid of Dirty Dan and Niemann, spend heavy in the draft on defense and pick up some WRs in FA. Mahomes needs to do some serious soul searching to figure out why he had the single worst choke in playoff history and find ways to never repeat it again. I am disgusted and ashamed and despondent. When does next season start already?

Welcome and quit being a ****ing baby..

Maybe its just me, but this loss didnt hit me as hard as years past. It wasnt the pain of the no punt game, or the indy come back. It was just a team thats been flat on and off all year going flat when it mattered most. Somethings wrong emotionally in that locker room. And if they didnt care to rally i have a hard time being that upset about it.

Patrick will bounce back they just got him out of his game and coaches should have ran the ball up the middle between tackles where they were having success. Sometimes we expect too much out of Mahomes but he was well worth that contract and we were a play or two away from going to our third Super Bowl. No Patrick did not play well on second half but as a team they needed make a play in second half and that's more on coaches to best prepare for diversity and Chiefs have time and time again battled diversity and still made it to AFC Championship after starting the season 3-5 and being laughed at. Joe Montana lost plenty of playoff games so have all the greats.

They had a chance to score a TD before the half. They failed.

They had the ball and a chance to go to the Super Bowl with a TD on the final drive of the game. They failed.

They won the coin toss and had a chance to score a TD to go to the Super Bowl in overtime. They failed.

They failed multiple times in key situations.

Dang. He could have saved face with that TD throw. Granted, the Bengals probably drive down the field with 1:30 left and score a TD.

They were so concerned with scoring quickly that they almost failed to score.

I have this nagging feeling that something was wrong with Mahomes in the second half (beyond just being mentally shot) and that we'll never know what it was.

I think that's what is bothering me the most.

Otherwise I'm disappointed that meaningful Chiefs football is over for the next 7 months or so.

Hopefully the Royals give us some quality entertainment this Summer.

Three chances to get a TD and Andy bet on Patrick.

All of us would do the same.

We all got a gut punch today.

It's like he was possessed by Jimmy Garoppolo at halftime. Except that can't be because Jimmy G was in LA doing his normal QB impersonation hours later.

We'll be okay. The Chiefs are always an entertaining team. Sometimes exhilarating, sometimes embarrassing. I think the outlook should be to enjoy the team, and don't count on Super Bowls and playoffs in your expectations. Then when it happens it will be even sweeter.

Can't win 'em all.

As much as I hate the Bills, I think I would have rather we just lost last week. The 13 second comeback and walk off TD in OT made it feel like it was another destiny year. Grim Reaper and 13 seconds memes were everywhere and it was all downhill to the SB from there. To be up 18 and slowly choke it away just felt so pre-Mahomes. I honestly thought those days were behind us. To be riding on such a high and then shit the bed so thoroughly was brutal. Imagine being someone waiting for your #15 Grim Reaper t-shirt to come in the mail this week.

The thing that's nagging me the most is first and goal from the five at the end of the game. You need to score, but are also good with burning some clock. What should you do? Maybe we could go back to the previous Bengals game and get an idea. You run it. And then you run it again. And then you run it again. The clock burns and if you don't get in, you can make a decision on 4th and goal from the one on whether to risk going for it to punch your way into the SB. What you don't do is try to pass when your QB knows he shouldn't throw it away and stop the clock. You are forcing him to either score or take a sack. And we know how that turned out.

Winning it all a couple years back takes the sting out of it a little. Playoff collapses of the past had felt like nails getting driven into a decades old casket and had me wondering if we would ever make it to the Super Bowl in my lifetime.

Failure to score a TD at the end of regulation is because we got too cute with running clock. We were playing our opponent and the clock at the same time and got burned by it.

Actually, I’d argue that we weren’t doing it enough, or at least correctly.

What we should’ve done if run the ****ing football. Then we either would’ve scored, or had a much easier 3rd down for Pat. That is how you do both.

I am fine. Disappointed for sure and I especially hated the way the Chiefs performed 2nd half.
But I moved on from this loss pretty quick. I got great things on the horizon, a new Grandbaby in 2 weeks, great spouse and retirement around the corner.

Going to be nice to have my Sundays back. Time to chore up and make a difference in my personal life.
Hoping the Bengals go the distance as they have a good fan base.
