Very true.

It was just a few months ago when our current WR1 couldn't get on the field and was being passed over for Byron Pringle.

They'll flip one of those picks for someone and sign another vet in FA.

Odell and Theilen for instance.

Thielen restructured his deal. He isn’t going anywhere.

And on the 610 broadcast that was posted in this thread earlier, Nate Taylor said they’re specifically looking at WRs in their 2nd-3rd year in the league.

They need someone somewhat established, but young and with some term.

Otherwise next year is gonna be a shitshow trying to fill out an entire WR corp.

Exactly who they should be looking for.

I'd give them 4-121 and 7-259 for Shenault and 5-157. Makes Shenault's value about the same as the pick they'd be giving up. No ****ing way I'd give up a day 2 pick for him and I feel generous giving the higher 4th. I'd just assume drafting a guy that fits a bit better than giving up any more than that, plus you're only getting 2 years out of the guy instead of 4.

You’d at least have options and I think that’s how Reid is seeing this transition. We’ve had an offense that had a top 3 WR and the best TE in the league….and defenses figured out how to put clamps on that. Why not load it with good to very good weapons and see how they try and cover everyone.

That's 3 of the worst droppers in the league in one WR corp. Gross.

Yep. Go find guys that haven’t blown up on their drafted team and bring them in. You’ve got a guy with untapped potential on a rookie contract to work with. Sprinkle in some rookie WRs with a guy like Shenault and then a vet….and we’ll be fine.

What stats are you using?

Drops are an extremely subjective (and unofficial?) stat anyway.

The Panthers may need picks to trade up for a Qb at some point.

Send them a first for DJ Moore.

The Franchise 03-24-2022 09:43 AM

Shenault had an over 70% catch rate his rookie year. The only player on that list who has catch issues is MVS and if we didn’t sign him….it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Pretty sure he just extended as well. Not happening.

The guy they JUST signed to an extension? You gotta actually check numbers before throwing out names.

If we're looking at 2-year WRs, I'd love to pry Van Jefferson from LA and Quez Watkins from Philly
