The original Die Hard is still the gold standard for action movies. I can't think of one better. I saw it four times in the theater over the summer of '88.

It's up there with the original Lethal Weapon, which I guess is the standard for buddy cop movies...but it was up there too for sure.

Lethal Weapon rocked, but Die Hard is better. Great story, great director, and in addition to Willis at his best, you had Rickman's turn as Hans Gruber. Probably the best movie villain ever.

Rickman always made a great villain. He was brilliant in Prince of Thieves.

And who can forget his sour character in Galaxy Quest?

Makes you wonder if that sudden burst of (bad) movies wasn't a last batch of paychecks to coast on and he didn't know this was a possibility for quite some time.

8 movies last year and something like 10 already in post this year? Guy was just flying through commitments.

I read rumblings about him having early-onset dementia a few weeks ago, and someone commented that these movies were a compensation for that. Not having seen them, I guess he only needs to film for a day or two, and most of them are shot in a way that almost all other scenes can be accomplished with stand-ins.

Idiots like him are really ****ing stupid.

I’ve worked with thousand of people with aphasia.

I’m going to see if he will meet me for therapy.

“They stated that he was happy to be there, but that it would be best if we could finish shooting him by lunch and let him go early,” Johnson recalled of the conversation. Filmmakers proceeded to quickly film the actor’s parts, even as Willis questioned where he was: “I know why you’re here, and I know why you’re here, but why am I here?” two crew members said he asked aloud.

“It was less of an annoyance and more like: ‘How do we not make Bruce look bad?’” one of the crew members said. “Someone would give him a line and he didn’t understand what it meant. He was just being puppeted.”
This sounds like he's got major cognitive decline.

One of Willis’ final larger-scale films, “Paradise City,” was filmed on the Hawaiian island of Maui last May, after the pandemic delayed production for a year. Chuck Russell, the film’s director, and a second crew member said Willis was thrilled to be reunited with a fellow “Pulp Fiction” star in Hawaii. (The film is scheduled for release this summer.)

“He was excited to work with John Travolta, and you could see the old Bruce Willis charm was still there,” Russell said. “He really brought his A game, and we made sure that he and John had a great experience filming together.”

Busey was self inflicted.
