There are some guys I'm eye-balling.
DE: Robert Quinn (Bears) Yannick Ngakoue (Colts) RT: Taylor Moton (RT) Offensive playmakers: RB Christian McCaffery WR Robbie Anderson The ultimate dream is Jeffrey Simmons of the Titans. He's about due for the end of his rookie deal and an extension, but he has exploded into his own. Pairing him and Chris Jones would be ... tasty. |
I like the Chiefs as they are.
The Chiefs will be OK while Willie Gay is out. Darius Harris, Leo Chenal, and Elijah Lee will step up for KC. When the 2nd arrest for Frank Clark is settled in the courts, I fully expect the NFL to do some type of a short suspension. The Chiefs kept 6 DEs to help fill that void. If Clark is out, Carlos Dunlap will play more and either Herring or Kaindoh get some playing time. Trent McDuffie goes down and we have Jaylen Watson stepping up. Joshua Williams is also learning and will help. Hopefully Lucas Niang will soon be ready to contribute to the OL. Our RBs are good enough that Ron Jones does not even get to dress for games. Our WRs are going to continue to get better. Skyy Moore really has not been used that much and we could see a huge improvement from him. |
In looking back at posts, I guess this is for next season.
I thought it was for this year. Carry on. |
To clarify, I'm not saying we need to bring anyone in.
I'm just curious what other teams might be getting rid of that could benefit us between now and the start of next season. I don't see a trade for Clowney as a likely option, although I'd like it. How about N Suh!? He's still out there, relatively cheap, brings some toughness to our DL! |

Great minds think alike Andy! |
So this Whitley guy is likely to play? He has to be elevated to the active roster so might as well play him.

What irritates me is there doesn’t seem to be much urgency when Kaindoh has got on the field. Sooner or later he needs to show progress or their going to lose hope on that upside. Herring is in his second year but is basically a rookie because they can’t practice while on NFI like he was his entire rookie year. I think they add Whitley as who they identified as having the most potential to contribute from young DEs the personnel department from preseason film. So they’re throwing numbers at it and they will eventually waive one of the three once they make their choice. Then that player who they waive will either get claimed or not or added to the ps or not but whatever happens someone will have the chance to step up. Not an exciting topic, the bottom 5 or so spots on the roster...just how I view it. Bring in competition to get the attention of a couple guys you need to make a choice on when other positions need help in the future and they can’t afford to carry that many DL |

Kaindoh https://draftscout.com/dsprofile.php...DraftYear=2021 Herring https://draftscout.com/dsprofile.php...DraftYear=2022 Whitley I think they liked his preseason film and his length is just the same as Kaindoh not his frame, height etc but he’s in the plus category with arm length plus good film gives them confidence in taking a chance on a guy. Kinda looks built like Danna just much better arm length |
They obviously think so highly of Kaindoh and Herring.
|
I see the Whitley signing more as a move in response to the Danna injury and the possible Clark suspension. If it works out to be competition for either Kanidoh or Herring, so be it.

This is BOTH - a response to the Danna injury AND competition for the other guys. |
We didn't have a DE on the PS.

I don't think they'll mess with the OL unless there's an injury, Andy likes continuity. McCaffery an option? |
