Right now it’s showing Friday morning south of Tallahassee, but yesterday is was showing Thursday about noon just north of Tampa.

Spaghetti models are moving it further out into the gulf. That bodes well for my neck of the woods

I never lost power once, but this was the longest and hottest heat wave on record in California. Over 1000 heat records were broken. This is a much more rare weather phenomenon than hurricanes in Florida, why aren't you calling out your own state?

I’ve lived in South Florida for nearly 40 years… including during Hurricane Andrew… and I’ve lost power maybe for a cumulative total of 48 hours.

And I have never once had to deal with getting frantic text alerts from the state’s power operator, pleading to conserve power with the threat of blackouts as happened in California during their alleged “heat wave” a few weeks ago.

ROFL ROFL ROFL

Yes, it was a myth, successfully propagated around the country. Busted.

In Sarasota, we might see the one that has always evaded us. Hunkering down so I can be around to help after. Hope that wasn't a bad idea haha

Yep, not looking good. Storm surge is going to be brutal. Family house is on Freeling Dr. in Siesta Key right on the intracoastal. Thinking the house sits at about 10-11ft above, so a 14-ft surge is going to flood it. The little beach community part of Siesta Key is right in the crosshairs.

Admirable that you want to help, but don't do anything dumb. Good luck!

That’s vacation winter, I enjoy that as well. It’s the day to day life that makes winter miserable.
