I saw him say on the Pat McAfee show that he had hired an agent so he wouldn't get the short end of the stick this time. I could probably find a youtube video of him saying it. But it begs the question. If his last deal is the short end of the stick, why would he play on it? Which I would also add in the question is nearly 20 million per year the short end of the stick? Sheesh... I think he wants new deal, with more guaranteed money and more money per year based off the statements I have heard from him. But only him and his agent knows what he wants. |

Add that to him making a comment on Pat's shows that he's excited about some of the team names being associated with his trade rumors (assuming that's the Chiefs) and it does feel like he'd be willing to play his contact out here. |

Looking at that statement of being more flexible in it's full context. He is talking about being flexible in not taking a top of the market deal. So 27-30 million is top of the market. He will make nearly 20 million aav the next 2 years, so lets split the difference between the 2 and assume that is what he wants. Does that seem reasonable? Does 24 million per year sound reasonable to you to pay Hopkins?

He wants to WIN! If he goes to the Chiefs, he will make it work. If he goes to a shit team, he will want the money! Sounds reasonable to me... |

Whatever he wants is irrelevant I don't see how a team would trade + extend him for the money he wants at his age. If the compensation is met it comes down to would he want to stay in AZ or not?
