The 49'ers staff should contact RealSNR or Fish or The Franchise or Bearcat or The Guardian or one of the other know-it-alls on CP so they can put them on their staff and pay them for 100% correct advice on all things, like the Wizard of Oz.

If we played the Lions, Campbell wouldn't have punted or attempted a FG the entire game.

Yeesh. I didn't see them hack up that protection that bad. You could tell the Right Tackle was like, "Hey wait come back!"

The center pulling to his left on that protection seems damn odd to me. If Jones had been on that side it would make sense but he wasn't.

Should Purdy not stand in and take the hit? The throw is there.

Pat would have at least attempted to run away from the 300 lb lineman to buy time.

Had to create a throwing lane. Mahomes could've sidearmed it but very few other guys can throw that ball off platform and if you lag it a little bit, the thing gets pick-6ed on an out route down there.

Purdy did all he could do. He tried to bail a bit to by some time and space to make a throw - Jones is just too damn big and too damn fast.

The RT cost them the game there by simply whiffing on the protection call. Looks like Kittle had the edge (I believe that was Karlaftis) and the RT was supposed to push Jones inside to create an easy throwing window on that quick out.

Tackle simply vapor-locked.

Many in the media had no idea either, I'm seeing this all over.

I think the only aspect most Chiefs fans weren't aware of is the clock not being an issue if its the teams first possession in OT.

Ah - he definitely couldn't just stand in. From his chair, he can't possibly know if Jennings will be able to get off that jam and if not, the safety (is that Reid?) is right over top to break on a ball thrown into that open area.

There really wasn't anything he could do. That play was dead once the RT botched the protection call.

In the first situation, it's Jimmy's fault. In the latter, it's the lineman who just let Chris Jones free.

If anything, the deep throw is harder to hit despite Sanders having the separation. In yesterday's case, all you need is 1-2 seconds of time and that's at least a first down, if not a TD.

Point being, the 49ers had opportunities in both games and failed.

Wallcrawler 02-12-2024 04:12 PM

Lmao can you imagine if the 49ers got a td there on that first drive in OT and went nuts thinking they won the game only to be told by the refs to gtfo the field and choose XPA or 2pt conversion?

They honestly thought the game would end if they scored.
