We need to draft well.

Been checking my phone all day out and about running errands. Don't care how late it came through, just glad it didn't drag out past Sunday.

Execute the plan now Vlartch, set us up.

CJ was the first one to start the dynasty talk after the first SB. He backed it up. So glad he can see the rest of it through!

Happy for Chris and glad he’s staying a Chief. Hope this doesn’t hamstring us too much though.

Will we be able to go get help at WR now?

How will this impact McDuffie, Bolton, Creed etc. in the next couple years?

We are in pretty good shape. This may be a better deal than we think for the Chiefs. with 95 Guaranteed over 5 years. Allows Chris to stay and say he is the highest paid DT of all time with a big 5th year, and allows the Katz brothers to look good. It will be fun to see the details. Either way, I trust Veach.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Chris Jones’ 5-year deal should make him the NFL’s highest-paid DT at around $32M per year. The first $95M or so are essentially guaranteed, and the final numbers are still being worked out. But a mammoth deal for a mammoth defender as a result of good-faith negotiations. <a href="https://t.co/w2Xub4OpR0">https://t.co/w2Xub4OpR0</a></p>&mdash; Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1766675910277673416?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 10, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

with only $95 Guaranteed he only needs 3 really good years.

In58men 03-09-2024 10:07 PM

#95 gets 95 million guaranteed, that’s not a coincidence lol.

Shaid 03-09-2024 10:09 PM

I love Chris Jones but 5 years is a long time for someone his age. Hoping that 5th year is truly a throwaway so we have flexibility if we need it. Glad the guaranteed money is in the first 3 years. This may be more of a 4 year 130 million deal.

DRM08 03-09-2024 10:10 PM

I’m shocked it happened. And now we cross our fingers. Hope like hell that he can stay healthy and perform at a strong level.

Dante84 03-09-2024 10:11 PM

Now let’s package Sneed for a trade up to get 5 years of a cost-controlled rookie LT.

The price of making history

There’s also something to be said for rewarding a player who has come up through your organization and been a good soldier and teammate every step of the way.

Shows players the Chiefs will take care of you if you do your part for them.

Chris definitely earned this and I’m happy for him.
