I have met a ton of politicians in Missouri that are both Democratic and Republican, and with no exceptions, they were all very accommodating and very kind. Not all of them were particularly sharp, but every single one of them was affable.
A couple came off as greasy? But not overtly, just in a kind of a kinda-comes-off-as type of way. |
Raquel Welch reader' digest vesion:
My late Uncle was KCPD and did a lot of escort (motorcycle) or driving of Celebs in town. As he told it to the best of my memory: He was taking Raquel and her companion (forgot name) to or from the old airport during bad winter weather. The car would occasionally slide around at intersections that night , and the companion kept telling Uncle to slow down, be careful etc. etc. Eventually Raquel had had enough and told her friend to "shut the **** up and let the officer drive". Uncle thought that was pretty cool. |
Briana Banks tousled my hair while performing onstage at Bazookas in KC
I'm convinced she was into me |
Mike Tyson was a total dick to me when I pestered him on a flight. Gave me a right cross.
Okay, that wasn't me, but... My wife grew up in Brentwood and when she and her friends were trick-or-treating, they rang the doorbell of Betty White and Alan Luddin. Rather than just giving them candy, they invited them in and chatted for a while (insert pedo jokes here). She said they were just the nicest people. |
I met Rob Schneider after a comedy event once and he was extremely nice. I could tell he was tired from doing a few shows, but he was still very nice and made time to chat with me for a few minutes after having met a lot of other fans. Henry Winkler was the same way. The only “celebrity” I’ve met that was a total dick was a nascar driver named Ryan Newman.

Bob Feller. **** that bitter old corpse.
Chris Evans was a pretty big dick. Rob Schneider is probably the biggest jerk I've met who is "famous" - or at least, WAS "famous." |

What was the point here? That you just met him? |
Carson Palmer.
Was at the Speedway one Sat in '03. He sat behind Kitna that year (rookie). He and i were the only 2 in the store at the time and i didn't do anything to go out of my way to be near him, didn't ask him for an autograph or a pic. Just said out loud, "good to have you on the team and look forward to watching you next year". Dude couldn't even be bothered to turn his head and acknowledge that i was there. I just went "ooookay" and walked up to pay for my stuff. |
George Brett flat out ignored me when I tried to get his autograph when i was a kid.

I've interacted with a shit ton of celebrities, mostly through customer service situations so I feel like I've gotten a pretty good idea of what to think of them. Almost all are at least polite and gracious. Tim Allen was surly, but as a regular at the restaurant where I worked, he warmed up to me. (His wife/manager was one of the friendliest people I ever waited on.)
One unsurprising dick head is Floyd Mayweather. He regularly stayed at a hotel in Hollywood where I was a concierge. We always knew if he was coming it was going to be a nightmare. Entitled, abusive, rude, and cheap. I don't even mean not tipping cheap. I mean demanding free shit and free stays over total bullshit. His entourage more than once got in physical alterations with security. **** that fight ducking loser. Also, Leslie Mann randomly. Maybe she was just having a bad week, but one Oscars week she and her husband Judd Apatow stayed at the hotel and she was ****ing awful. Complained about everything and was verbally abusive. Oh, and Denzel ate at the restaurant where I worked and was an out and out creep towards the waitress. Really surprised he hasn't been MeTooed based on his behavior. Again, maybe it was an isolated incident or something, but he was really gross. |
For the most part, celebrities are excited to meet me and very polite. Most don't even ask for an autograph.

Travis Tritt told me to **** off when I asked him to sign my 2009 mock draft

Met Jamaal Charles at J Alexanders a few hours after he played a great game at Arrowhead. Couldn't have been friendlier and very down to earth.
Carl Peterson = complete a-hole. |
