I think they'll take one.

But meeting with Skattebo, if anything, proves they ain't looking in the 1st to do it.

Because if they take that ****ing guy in the 1st round everyone should be fired. That's just ridiculously stupid.

There's just so little utility in RB in the 1st at this point.

I mean if you have an elite RB he costs between $16-20 million on the FA market.

Meanwhile if you have an elite DE, DT, CB or WR you're looking at $25 millionish (or far more).

The upside just isn't there. The benefit of a RB on a rookie deal is so much less than any position apart from maybe C or G that I just don't understand how anyone can like the idea at this point.

It's just really poor asset management. Especially when you're going to have RBs in the 3rd and 4th round that are potential NFL starting RBs in their own right.

Agreed. I also think that given the number of quality DTs that are available in the draft, we would be better served waiting until the 3rd round or so to pick that position. The highest paid players in football other than QBs tend to be LTs and we definitely need to shore up that position. I believe that would dictate that we should be looking at LT for our first pick. It sucks that Kingsley didn't work out as we had hoped after spending a high pick on him, but we can't have a repeat of last year.

It would probably be better for him if they don't. He'd get more opportunity elsewhere. He'd be used primarily in the slot here -- he has the chops for more than that.

Is there a reason this team likes these big plodder backs? Where is the speed damn it.

Nah the Eagles will take him...

There's absolutely no reason to target a LT in the first round. It's not a good draft class at all for LTs and we are already picking 31.

Where he'd also get buried in the slot.

I don't think they will. I think they'll need to look at getting some new pieces for the defense after they took most of their losses there in the off-season.

I'd do it if somehow Simmons fell all the way to 31 so like 1%.

Right. Hence why I said "target".

SHOWTIME 03-21-2025 10:23 AM

With Willie gay in Miami, the team could use some depth at LB behind channel, tranquil, and Bolton…

Well considering they are paying ****ing Jack Cochrane 3 million dollars.

It’s gonna be DL. I’d bet on it. Veach knows it’s a strength and the bet chance to find BPA.

Last year we were pretty well set as a team and brought in Hollywood to boost the WR room and Veach still took Worthy from a strong WR class that saw 10 of them go in the first 37 picks overall.

It’s 63, 66 and 95 that has my curiosity. I think those picks are best served boosting the offense adding a RB and WR.

I think double-dipping at DL and drafting 2 weapons is the best play for those first 4 picks

Agree. I don't think they are taking a RB before the 3rd. I don't know what they see Skattebo... we already have a running back who runs up the back of his offensive linemen in Pacheco.

They are going to take a DL (maaaaybe a DB) in the first...and more defense there after, methinks.
