Going to the 9th now... Corpas coming on, Rockies up by 3.

kcxiv 10-14-2007 09:33 PM

How amazing is 20 of 21. Just wow. Dunno what else to say but wow

siberian khatru 10-14-2007 09:42 PM

20-1. That's just off the charts.

I remember when the 77 Royals went 24-1 in September. That was amazing -- what a way to put the hammer down on the division.

But what the Rockies are doing is different. Their stretch included must-win games at the end of the season. It was do or die. They're going 20-1 with everything on the line.

tk13 10-14-2007 09:42 PM

Game over. The Colorado Rockies are now one win from the World Series. Words I didn't think I'd really ever say. 20 of the last 21.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-14-2007 09:43 PM

I've never seen any team this hot. Wow. :wayne:

tk13 10-14-2007 09:46 PM

I thought they had a great shot at the World Series because of their hitting and bullpen, but I didn't think they'd mow down the competition quite like this. If they keep playing like this they'll be able to compete with the AL winner.

Ultra Peanut 10-14-2007 09:46 PM

The Rockies are awesome.

Game over Tribe wins

2 games to 1 Indians.

tk13 10-15-2007 08:39 PM

Cleveland wins. Borowski actually has a normal inning. Up 2-1 on Boston.

WilliamTheIrish 10-15-2007 08:40 PM

Love it.

Frazod 10-15-2007 08:40 PM

Cleveland v. Colorado would be cool. Get some fresh blood in the WS.

Demonpenz 10-15-2007 08:41 PM

Unless it's the Cards, of course. But we'll give somebody else a shot this year. :)

siberian khatru 10-15-2007 10:09 PM

6-1 Rockies in the 4th.

Incredible.

kcxiv 10-15-2007 10:36 PM

21 out of 22 in a few more innings. This is damn near impossible. wtf.

1ChiefsDan 10-15-2007 10:37 PM

6-1 Rockies - middle of the 6th

tk13 10-15-2007 10:38 PM

I think Mark Schlereth was right last night on ESPN... the Rockies are probably the only team that could beat the Patriots right now. They're in the zone that much.

QuikSsurfer 10-15-2007 11:02 PM

i went to high school and graduated with Seth Smith - Rockies just picked him up a few weeks ago. strange to see him heading to the WS

I played little league with Brian Fuentes. I know how you feel..

kcxiv 10-15-2007 11:13 PM

And he just got blasted. lol

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-15-2007 11:14 PM

Fuentes has been a launching pad in the second half.

tk13 10-15-2007 11:15 PM

And for the first time in about a month the Rockies actually look vulnerable.

HolmeZz 10-15-2007 11:15 PM

A little drama never hurt no-body.

I never thought he was that good of a pitcher growing up. he made it, but i seen other guys that were better then him growing up. He did somethign right though. He's making like 6 mil a year. lol

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-15-2007 11:17 PM

Corpas time.

tk13 10-15-2007 11:17 PM

Time to get him out of there. Tying run coming to the plate.

Buck 10-15-2007 11:18 PM

I've never seen Fuentes look so bad.

Correction, Fuentes was horrible in June and July, not the second half.

I seem to remember his implosion as being more recent than that.

Upon checking the stats, I was off.

Buck 10-15-2007 11:20 PM

A Deafening Silence???

Is that even possible?

Cmon Rockies, you gutsy mother****ers, I know you got this.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-15-2007 11:22 PM

He needs to just go after him. It's Tony Clark, for fuck's sake.

tk13 10-15-2007 11:22 PM

Great pitch. Struck him out.

Miles 10-15-2007 11:23 PM

Nice job by Corpas.

Demonpenz 10-15-2007 11:24 PM

didn't even look like a good pitch it was a frisbe up there

If theirs a way to check his stats vs. One team, check em vs. the Padres, absolutely ridiculous....

I've hated the D'Backs ever since Bob Brenley Bitched about Ben Davis breaking up Schillings No-No with a bunt in a 1 run game.

Even though the Rockies beat us, I'm still rooting for them.

tk13 10-15-2007 11:27 PM

Rockies hitters are going to make Vlad Guerrero look like a patient hitter in this inning.

He has a .238 AVG, .310 OBP, with 8 HRs and 30K's in 105 ABs...

Buck 10-15-2007 11:30 PM

Predictions anybody???

I say a 1, 2, 3 inning right here.

I don't know the exact quote... but supposedly he said after game 2 that the Rockies were just lucky. Something to that effect.

HolmeZz 10-15-2007 11:43 PM

Can't wait to see some great fundamental baseball in the Series. Plus I hate the Sox...

His comments on Saturday.

Here is one of them:

"I think we're a good team. I also don't think the Rockies have outplayed us, because they haven't. Not even close. They've had a little luck go their way. Definitely, the ball has bounced in their direction. They've been the beneficiary of some calls."

Yes.

But if I'm not mistaken, the Cardinals won the World Series the following year, and the Madres were our into-the-playoffs doormat. As usual.

Why do you set yourself up like this? :spank:

Yeah, well at least the Padres made the playoffs this year...wait...shit.

Ultra Peanut 10-15-2007 11:52 PM

21 of 22: Just luck.

Frazod 10-15-2007 11:53 PM

I'm hoping the Indians beat the Yankmees North. In that case, I'll root for them. But if the Yankmees North win, I'll root for Colorado.

It'll be hard to root for a Denver team :grr: but I'll try to remember the Clint Hurdle angle.

Plus, it diminishes the Nags, which is always a good thing. :thumb:

Buck 10-15-2007 11:53 PM

Imagine what Cleveland Bronco will be feeling if they both make it.

tk13 10-16-2007 12:01 AM

If the Indians do make it, it truly will be a small payroll World Series. That'll get played up big time, I'd imagine. Long way to go for Cleveland though. Already aside from Boston... 3 of the 8 smallest payrolls in baseball made the final 4.

Deberg_1990 10-16-2007 12:02 AM

Congrats to former Royals Clint Hurdle!!
