How can you give a shit about the NBA? Especially regular season NBA, some of the worst go-through-the-motions-until-the-playoffs in all of sport? Especially when there is football being played?

Hats off to you, remaining NBA fan. You are a dying breed and I respect your dedication.

Tiger's Fan 10-31-2009 11:34 AM

Garnett is back. There'll be no repeat. LA wouldn't have won last year with Garnett in the playoffs. Domination!

Garnett needs to prove that his twice operated on knee can hold up for 100+ games, not just two.

SAS takes it, IMO.

A healthy BOS would beat SA. I think LA could take SA in a 7 game series. Whats so good about Richard Jefferson ?

Did you watch that game through your team's empty trophy case? It's the Mavericks' time of the year...November baby!

I didn't get a chance to watch the game but it sounds like we put a whoopin' on the Suns last night.

I really wasn't close. Almost all the team played really well. Did you see the Shannon Brown dunk ?

Sure did lol. Although I will always contend the refs stole our trophy in 06 and gave it to Miami. We're a better team this year then last but it won't be good enough to get us anywhere.

Yeah, it was never close. I did not watch the whole game, just parts but the Suns were dominated in the paint and by the Lakers offensive boards. This will be the case for the Suns all season long. They are one of the smallest teams in the league.

kcxiv 11-13-2009 02:45 PM

Lakers are starting to play very well. Gasol hasnt even played this season yet. Bynum is putting up big time numbers. Tonight is going to be a good test as well.

Kobe's mid range and post game this year have been crazy good. That work he did with Hakeem has been showing already. At 31 years old Kobe is getting better.

Don't forget that Gasol and Bynum have not brought out the best in each other while playing together. Bynum has played his best when Gasol was out and vice versa. It will be interesting to see if the Lakers can get them both playing well at the same time. That has not really happened yet.

Amnorix 11-13-2009 03:28 PM

I can see Lakers-Celtics again. Easily...

Pitt Gorilla 11-13-2009 11:47 PM

Yes Kobe has proven over and over again that lucky should be his middle name.

Lakers played about as poorly as they could to put themself in that posion but what an ending. Very one sided officiating down the stretch as well starting with Kobe getting hit with a foul on a very clean strip.

for real though, the Clippers might be pretty decent once he gets back, they have some talent. Not near as good as the Lakers, but they should make the playoffs this year IMO.

I think that he got lucky with the call the previous time down the court with a blocking call. But at the same time he came through in the clutch yet again. Everyone says he is the best closer in the game but i still dont think he gets enough credit for it. He is absolutely ruthless at the end of games. It is truly amazing to watch

Yea, pretty much. Scary thing is I believe this team can still get a lot better before the playoffs.

kcxiv 01-31-2010 05:53 PM

If Bynum plays like he did today. Its a no brainer. My only issue i that Phil didnt let him play enough in the 2nd quarter and when he was in, they didnt go to him in the post. He was beasting hardcore today. He played most of the 4th over Pau which was shocking to me. I am glad Phil went with Bynum instead of Gasol for once. Bynum's + must have been extremly high today. I am going to have to look that up.

First game back, another game winning 3. Ho-hum.

HOW COME KOBE IS SO LUCKY?

BIG_DADDY 02-23-2010 09:56 PM

Kobe has a very real shot of going down as the best player ever. 13 for 16 and the final 9 points including a 3 point game winner. Awesome

tyler360 02-23-2010 10:37 PM

I just dont understand how he is still allowed to get a shot off anymore.

kcxiv 02-24-2010 01:39 AM

He got a good shot off because he and gasol had a good screen that freed him up. He also shot it. From like 2 feet behind the line

kcxiv 02-24-2010 02:05 PM

So, this guy takes 2 weeks off because he's got a bum ankle. He comes back, plays well. Down by 2 points with 8 seconds left. Who do you think is going to take the last shot... dun dun dun......

On a more serious note his career per game stats do include two seasons where he didn't start prior to his 20's.

blah blah blah. He's the best closer this game has ever seen. He's one of the all time greats. He has won 4 Finals on the team i grew up watching.

I have seen my lakers win about 9 championships in my lifetime. what more could a Lakers fan ask for?

MJ was also still a pretty damn solid player in his late 30's. Kobe is in the discussion with career comparisons but I agree that outside of Lakers fans he doesn't quite measure up.

Not as much as Kobe's two developmental years coming off the bench. However, if you compare career numbers throwing those two years out, Kobe just isn't there.

This isn't a Pats fan complaining about calls is it?

You have no point here Jordon got as many calls a anyone ever. At least Kobe doesn't have to shove people out of his way to take the winning shot. That was a no call BTW.

BIG_DADDY 02-24-2010 06:06 PM

One more thing, I said he had a real chance but that was assuming things continue to run smooth and he keeps winning championship. Obviously if his career ended today that would not be the case.

Then he will be more of a compiler. He will not suddenly get better than he is now going forward.

He continues to evolve as a player. The way he has played the last two years with the constant physical problems is nothing short of amazing. Funny you would choose to use compiling as a way of dismissing greatness when it has been used as the entire foundation for establishing Jordon as the greatest ever throughout this entire thread.
