As Jerry Garcia once said, "we move swiftly from a song about tragedy impending, to a song about tragedy narrowly adverted."

It was a poorly played second half with more than a few questionable calls. But, MU failed to play they game as it was being called and take the ball to the basket.

dirk digler 03-22-2009 05:31 PM

Damn that was too close to call. Great game though

Great season thus far.

Now let's put together a full game and knock off Memphis.

Big 12 putting on a nice display in the tournament.

wild1 03-22-2009 05:33 PM

would have been hard to sell this team as a tournament team at all before the year. now they are in the sweet 16

eazyb81 03-22-2009 05:33 PM

I also love how CBS thought it was necessary to show the Tyus Edney replay at the end.

Yeah, him and the rest of those booing Marquette fans can go home and study the rulebook and learn the rules of shot clock violations and not stepping in bounds when you are trying to inbound the ball before they come back next year.

You know how many times I've seen refs let that slide after a made basket?

Now this was just completely obvious, but I see that happen a lot, only it happens quicker and it doesn't get called.

I don't think Dayton even led after 2-0 :spock:

Had Kansas needed a basket with 7 seconds to go against NDS, do you think they would have shown Simien's miss against Bucknell? OF COURSE THEY WOULD HAVE!

I don't see the problem with the clip... it's about the most appropriate clip you could come up with in that situation.

Good for Mizzou. I get nervous because of all the tv timeouts and regular timeouts, it negates some of the advantage of mizzou's system. The karma is starting to come around for Mizzoui Sports though. I think mizzou got some breaks in the alamo bowl

Maybe you'd actually understand if you were a Mizzou fan and saw that clip every single year in the tournament, and in TV commercials, and in countdowns of the greatest moments in March Madness.

We are ****ing sick of seeing that shot. I don't give a **** if the situations were comparable. You just don't show horrible moments like that in that situation. It's like they're trying to jinx us.

Now go back to celebrate your awesome win over Dayton and let Mizzou fans enjoy this.

I doubt CBS is thinking about the feelings of a bunch of Mizzou fans when they decide what clips to show. It's visceral and it's appropriate to the situation. It's not like the players were watching or something.

CBS College Sports on channel 613 on Directv will replay all of the games.

You know...it does get a little monotonous. And imagine sitting amongst a number of Kentucky Wildcat fans and seeing the Christian Laettner a thousand times....

Trust me...if KU had a last second loss of epic proportions like MU and UK and they played it incessantly we would be hearing KU fans saying the same thing.

Yeah, they showed the Bucknell win at the start of the NDSU game. I was thinking, "What the hell? Way to start the game for the fans." I guess in the situation you guys were well keyed up as it was, and that just brought out more emotion.

Still, you won! :cuss:
