Yeah, I mean runners on the corners with no outs and a pitcher who doesn't K batters is obviously worth the risk of an out or a run there.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 07:56 PM

Don't ever mother**** with Yadi Molina.

tk13 04-17-2010 07:56 PM

Well that's about as good of a throw as you're going to see all season.

And you'll see him make that throw another 10 times this year. He's truly an amazing asset behind the plate.

chefsos 04-17-2010 07:57 PM

On to the 17th inning stretch...

JD10367 04-17-2010 08:00 PM

What the ****. I turned to my local Fox news channel to catch the 10pm news and the Mets and Cards are still scoreless? Do they both suck that bad, or has the pitching been that good?

tk13 04-17-2010 08:01 PM

And we cross the 10 ET mark. Just gonna take the whole FOX schedule down.

chefsos 04-17-2010 08:02 PM

Going 0-7 or 0-8 in a game like this has got to suck, but the bright side is, you can get an entire slump out of the way in one day.

See, there you go. Already blown through all the primetime and into the local news.

tk13 04-17-2010 08:03 PM

And we go to the 18th...

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:03 PM

JFC LMAO

DJ's left nut 04-17-2010 08:04 PM

Ryan Ludwick couldn't have had a worse game on purpose.

Him, Ryan and Holliday have put forward a trio of suck unseen in a looooong time.

tk13 04-17-2010 08:05 PM

Felipe Lopez on to pitch for the Cardinals! LMAO

I know. How will people live without those episodes of "Cops" and "America's Most Wanted". LMAO

tk13 04-17-2010 08:06 PM

Kyle Lohse in LF! This game has officially entered the Twilight Zone.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:06 PM

****. We couldn't move up someone's ****ing side session by a day?

tk13 04-17-2010 08:07 PM

Lopez with that 76 mph gas! LMAO

tk13 04-17-2010 08:07 PM

Crap, he's already doing better than Farnsworth. Sign him up.

Yeah, he looks pretty good. I always find it interesting how many athletes can play out of position. A lot of NFLers can play emergency QB or kicker and do a decent job.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:09 PM

ROFL ROFL ROFL

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:10 PM

Lopez has thrown a 4 seamer, a change, and a curve all in this AB.

JD10367 04-17-2010 08:10 PM

Wouldn't it be cool if this guy has some wacky clause in his contract, like, "If he strikes out an opposing player, he gets a $500,000 bonus"? LMAO

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:11 PM

WHAT THE ****??

ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL

chefsos 04-17-2010 08:11 PM

ROFL

tk13 04-17-2010 08:11 PM

Holy crap. This inning is turning into the ending to that "Rookie of the Year" movie. Next up Lopez is going to throw underhanded.

DJ's left nut 04-17-2010 08:11 PM

Lopez just threw a better breaking ball than anything I've seen from Motte this year.

And Mather missed that tag, Valdez was safe easy.

JD10367 04-17-2010 08:12 PM

So, the SS just threw to the pitcher who got a hit and then a throwing error but the pitcher was thrown out at 2nd. :bong:

This is pretty good stuff.

JD10367 04-17-2010 08:13 PM

Uh oh, four-pitch walk, this guy's out of gas. LOL

chefsos 04-17-2010 08:13 PM

Lopez has to pick that guy off now, just to make this inning stupidly perfect.

tk13 04-17-2010 08:14 PM

Felipe Lopez, ace reliever.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:14 PM

Royals fans, your GM thought that guy was Adam Dunn.

Nevermind that, we can't find a relief pitcher to save our lives and LaRussa can put his SS on the mound and get three outs.

Marcellus 04-17-2010 08:15 PM

Win or lose this is one of the most interesting games I have ever watched.

Just wow.

I'm watching it on FOX, but this is easy enough: http://www.channelsurfing.net/watch-mlb-2.html

DJ's left nut 04-17-2010 08:21 PM

Interesting point: Valdez is the guy that gave up the granny to Flip yesterday.

Only to face him as a pitcher the next day.

Miles 04-17-2010 08:21 PM

Lopez has now played at least one inning at every position except C and CF.

tk13 04-17-2010 08:22 PM

Of course, he hits into a DP.

To the 19th we go! LMAO

Excellent. Thanks.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:22 PM

Skip really sucks

Miles 04-17-2010 08:23 PM

Interested to see who pitches for the Cards here.

DeezNutz 04-17-2010 08:24 PM

0-0 in the 19th.

Gotta love the NL. :)

DJ's left nut 04-17-2010 08:24 PM

Mather takes the bump.

Lopez must've reached his pitch limit.

tk13 04-17-2010 08:24 PM

LMAO Lopez reaches his pitch count... he moves to 3rd. 3B Joe Mather moves to pitcher.

Miles 04-17-2010 08:24 PM

ROFL

Mather.

DeezNutz 04-17-2010 08:25 PM

79 mph meatball.

Reaper16 04-17-2010 08:25 PM

LMAO @ high school teams waiting for hours to play their game.

chefsos 04-17-2010 08:25 PM

Mets' and Cards' team ERAs should be asterisked after this. It's like two shutouts each.

Miles 04-17-2010 08:26 PM

Excellent delivery.

The rarest stat in baseball: the Complete Games Shutout

-King- 04-17-2010 08:26 PM

This guy isn't throwing strikes at all.
Posted via Mobile Device

DeezNutz 04-17-2010 08:27 PM

Sac against a "pitcher" who cannot throw strikes or pitch, period.

Ok.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:27 PM

Why not have Lohse throw an inning here?

tk13 04-17-2010 08:27 PM

I mean really, if it got in a do or die situation with 2 outs, wouldn't you just switch Lohse and Mather for one batter?

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:27 PM

The Mets should double steal here.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:28 PM

Please God, I'm actually hoping that we bring in Kyle Lohse

-King- 04-17-2010 08:29 PM

Bases loaded. Game over
Posted via Mobile Device

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:29 PM

Come on, it's the ****ing 19th. At this point, you can't ****ing give up. It's a Pyrrhic defeat if we lose this game.

tk13 04-17-2010 08:30 PM

How fitting he hits it to the pitcher playing LF.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:31 PM

Why the **** would you walk the bases loaded when your pitcher can't throw strikes

DJ's left nut 04-17-2010 08:31 PM

I actually feel bad for Kyle Lohse there.

That flyball to the track had to have him nervous as hell.

Though I'll say that he positioned himself better for the throw back to the IF better than Chris Duncan does.

Why are we walking Blanco? You know they'll PH for Valdez to bring in K-Rod.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-17-2010 08:31 PM

Bring Felipe back in...

DeezNutz 04-17-2010 08:31 PM

LMAO.

Solid decision.

Miles 04-17-2010 08:31 PM

Now all this is missing is Yadi running out to the mound to switch equipment with Mather.

DeezNutz 04-17-2010 08:32 PM

All things considered, Mather did quite well.

-King- 04-17-2010 08:32 PM

This guy is not throwing strikes. Got bailed out on that called strike.
Posted via Mobile Device

tk13 04-17-2010 08:33 PM

LMAO Smart of Mather to get over there. This whole game is so bizarre. Can the Cards come up with a run now...

Miles 04-17-2010 08:33 PM

No idea how he just made it out of that inning with only giving up 1 run.

KC_Connection 04-17-2010 08:33 PM

Why is TLR IBB'ing guys with Joe Mather pitching?
