Chiefs signed Jerheme Urban. The former Cardinal is snapped up by his former coach Todd Haley. Urban has good size and caught 24 passes in 2008, but he's a classic fourth receiver at best. Luckily for him, the Chiefs don't even have a true third wideout. Urban will have a good chance to make the Week One roster. |
Hmm......worth a look? He's big enough to play NT.

I thought he did a very good job and am kinda surprised by his release. He was easily our best run defender at the LB position and could probably start for both the Chargers and the Chiefs as their strongside ILB. |
Just saw a rumor on the Broncos forum about trading Marshall for the 38 and David Hawthorne. As a Chiefs fan, I'm happy that they won't be getting the 6th or 14th, but David Hawthorne did very good in place of Tatupu last year. I guess we'll see.

We need to go after Kirk Morrison. He's well worth the 3rd it would take to get him.

The dude is a true athlete, but could he mentally adjust after 5 years in Oakland's 4-3? There's got to be a reason greasy Al is offering him up for a 3rd (although it could be because Davis is just plain senile). |

Browns sign Benjamin Watson
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 12, 2010 7:05 AM ET Benjamin Watson is a Cleveland Brown. Watson, a free agent tight end who played his entire six-year career with the New England Patriots, has signed a three-year deal with the Browns. As first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, it's a $12 million contract with $6.35 million guaranteed. A league source who confirmed the deal to PFT says the $6.35 million guaranteed will be paid out completely in the first year of the deal. The 29-year-old Watson played in all 16 games for the Patriots last season, starting seven and catching 29 passes for 404 yards and five touchdowns. |
Cross two off my wishlist...
Rex Hadnot (signed with the Cardinals) Ben Watson (signed with the Browns) |
LJ said him and Portis would be almost identical to him and Priest.
He also said the league hasn't had a good RB tandem in a while. I guess that ****ing moron missed the DeAngelo/Stewart, CJ/Lendale, Thomas Jones/Shonn Greene, Hightower/Beanie Wells tandems. ****ing idiot. Chiefs also contacted Casey Weigmann about coming back. |
LJ has crossed over from slightly delusional to full blown smoking crack.

Chiefs Showing Interest In Free Agent Centers
by Joel Thorman on Mar 12, 2010 3:53 PM CST The lone offensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs to start every game last season was center Rudy Niswanger. While his effort is noted, the center position is one that comes up often when talking about upgrading the offensive line. Just this afternoon, 810 WHB's Jake Gutierrez reported that the Chiefs called up former center Casey Wiegmann. We're not sure where the Chiefs stand with that as of now. As it turns out, the Chiefs are showing interest in another center. Ralph Cindrich, agent for free agent center Hank Fraley, has said the Chiefs are showing interest in his client. (Side note: And since Fraley's camp went public with the Chiefs interest it probably means he won't sign.) Cindrich said Fraley is in Missouri visiting -- but it's St. Louis, not Kansas City. He also said the Chiefs signing another offensive lineman would not change their interest. Fraley, 32, spent the first five active seasons in the NFL with the Eagles. In 2006, he was traded to the Browns, who were coached by Romeo Crennel at the time so there's your Chiefs connection. His release from the Browns doesn't necessarily mean he's lost it. The Browns spent a first round pick on Alex Mack last April and need to get him on the field. Fraley has been noted for his "blue collar work ethic" and his ability to call the plays for the offensive line. He also can play some guard. He appears to fit the "right 53" mold. |
Weigman sucked his last year here.

Javon Walker adds Taco Bell to his game day regime
Free agent Javon Walker says he has regained his explosiveness and intends to continue his career. Walker underwent experimental surgery last year that supposedly allowed him to regrow cartilage in his knee. "I haven’t done anything lately," Walker acknowledged. "But (I’m) just (looking for) somebody who’s going to dig down deep and say ‘let’s take a look and see what this kid can do.’" |

Bucs sign safety Sean Jones.
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/pla...rt=NFL&id=2798 "adio station 620 WDAE in Tampa is reporting the Bucs have signed S Sean Jones. We're awaiting confirmation. Jones was known to have been negotiating with the Bucs, so the news doesn't come as a surprise. Though he also visited the Titans, Jones has a better chance to start in Tampa, where he'd be favored to knock off Sabby Piscitelli for the starting strong safety job." A sign that the Bucs will go in a direction other than Berry with their #3 pick? |

Dwan Edwards signs with the Bills
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 16, 2010 7:30 PM ET Just hours after Dwan Edwards said that free agency has been difficult, the defensive lineman has taken himself off the market. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Edwards agreed to an undisclosed contract with the Buffalo Bills. Edwards, who should mostly play defensive end in the team's new 3-4 defense, also visited the Broncos and Seahawks. Edwards told the Baltimore Sun Tuesday that some teams had expressed reservations about the neck he surgically repaired in 2008. It's a high-risk, high-reward signing for Buffalo. (We had Edwards in our top ten free agents a few weeks back.) http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ith-the-bills/ |

Redskins add Rex Grossman
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 17, 2010 9:59 AM ET Mike Shanahan has acquired a new quarterback, albeit one who appeared in just one NFL game in 2009. The Redskins reached an agreement this morning with former Bears and Texans quarterback Rex Grossman on a one-year deal. Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report the deal today. PFT's Mike Florio reported on March 5 that the Redskins were interested in Grossman, and a league source told PFT that the contract is for the league minimum salary, plus incentives. Grossman and new Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan were together in Houston last year. Grossman played in one game with the Texans, completing three of nine passes for 33 yards and an interception in a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played for the Bears from 2003 to 2008. The Redskins were also reportedly interested in former Broncos quarterback Chris Simms. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-rex-grossman/ |

I was hoping that we would sign Sean Jones.

Jones' arrival likely means the Bucs will pass on Tennessee's Eric Berry at No. 3 overall, but it shouldn't stop them from addressing safety later in the draft. Jones is a hard hitter and excels in the box but struggled badly in coverage lat season. |
Report: Anderson appears headed for Cardinals
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 17, 2010 12:02 PM ET The following tweet comes from Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official team website: "QB Derek Anderson reportedly agrees with Cards." We're not entirely sure if Urban is reporting the news himself or if someone else is, so we'll hold off saying this one is official just yet. The move would make a lot of sense, though. The Cardinals don't want to risk losing Anderson and Charlie Whitehurst. There has been speculation that Seattle's acquisition of an extra draft pick Tuesday in exchange for Darryl Tapp will be used to get Whitehurst. The Cardinals want a viable option at quarterback in case Matt Leinart doesn't pan out. Anderson's track record is spotty, but he does fit a vertical offense like Arizona's attack best. We wouldn't be shocked if Anderson beat him out for the job. UPDATE: Sports 620 KTAR reporter Paul Calvisi reports the Cardinals will announce Anderson's signing Wednesday. UPDATE II: NFL Network's Jason La Canfora confirms that Anderson has agreed to terms. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...for-cardinals/ |
