first off...Manningham wasn't wide open...#21 was going to destroy him if Smith threw him the ball
secondly, he wasn't throwing it to Manningham...it looks as if he was throwing it to Kyle Williams...who, for all we know, Smith expected to stop rather than run the same route 3 yards behind Manningham... either way...that's just a normal incompletion that is neither a bad play or a good play just normal |

Hey does the ring still work while homey is standing on his head??? ROFL |
Just a heads up CP:
the sooner you guys figure out the entire 49ers message board is viewing this board, the sooner you will stop throwing out uneducated 49er stats. You can't compete with 9er obsessed fans on 9er factiods. And when I say the entire 9er message board is viewing this board, I am not exaggerating. There is currently a thread: "Come here to laugh at the Chiefs" Ps, the majority would like to see Alex, and therefore the chiefs, succeed (unless you are playing SF). |

Tom Brady throws an incompletion like that probably about 5 times a game...just from the pocket because he doesn't often move from it
that's a 100% normal incompletion you guys are ridiculous(ly) stupid |
There won't be any good play gifs coming.
|
I once saw the legendary Tom Brady drop back to pass on his first offensive play in a Super Bowl...launch it 50 yards down the field to absolutely no one in particular...and take a safety.
What a terrible QB. |

Pattern: 49ers fans settle for an underpowered message board and an underpowered QB.
It's time for Clark to step up and give us a QB worth of our message board. |
They're having a huge discussion over my 2-27-1 stat. LMAO

I'm not sure what you're getting at, Dave. I'd still take him as a backup here. He also had a good arm before he got hurt, and he's still mobile.

GOATSE
once again it's another LOADED, DIPSHIT, STUPID ****ing stat that all occurred PRE-HARBAUGH JFC man... Since Harbaugh, he's 2-3 including a playoff win using that LOADED stat. You're just using "bust" Alex Smith against the guy he's actually been the last two years. One of those 3 losses was the miracle "Tony Romo punctured lung game" as well. Dude, you can twist any stat you want to make Alex Smith look like Matt Cassel because he was a full fledged bust for the first four years he was in the NFL... but it's real fair to compare that situation to an Aaron Rodgers who got to take over a team who was a Favre **** up and a Crosby miss away from making the Super Bowl. My ****ing God dude sometimes you are just totally pathetic. "HIS CAREER STATS ARE MATT CASSEL'S!" Do I need to keep crushing you with this all night/week/month long or...? |
It's not stupid. To do it only twice in seven years is embarrassingly pathetic.
If the 49ers didn't have such a great defense the last two years he'd have even more losses. |
it's ridiculous
his level of play this year was pretty much Trent Green-esque that's his ceiling in KC we all wanted a franchise QB...we got Alex Smith that's a fair reason to be pissed/disappointed but making things up to pretend we got Cassel version 2 is pathetic |

and if Peyton Manning wasn't so good he wouldn't be so good! |

Taking a shit ton of sacks is Trent-Green esque? |

I'll ask you one further. What player in this draft is a franchise player worth the #1 pick? |

Yes. Alex Smith operated Harbaugh's gameplan very well. Alex Smith could be Trent Green in KC. He could also be Trent Dilfer. His ability is somewhere between those two. He's an efficient game manager who has shown ability to make plays the past two years.
Does this excite me? No, not really. I'd rather have drafted Geno or Barkley and taken a shot but apparently Reid and Dorsey aren't believers in these QBs. I don't think they are Scott Pioli stupid, though. Reid always drafted/realized the importance of QB's in Philly. Dorsey went from Favre to Rodgers...pretty sure he realizes what the winning blueprint in the NFL is...and I doubt those two are stupid enough to hitch their wagons to Alex Smith for 4+ years if he plays like Trent Dilfer. |
Quote:
but you need to stop using the bust Smith years as ways to beef up this argument you're having with yourself on this board it's pathetic |

Quote:

Alex Smith will never be Trent Green, he needs to almost double his production :/
|
Quote:
but he's 2-3 in that situation since Harbaugh came to town and that's the stat you should be using... what Alex Smith did at the start of his career is absolutely irrelevant since he's now been a different guy for 24 straight games. the only reason to use Nolan/Singletary Smith stats is to try and prove he's something he isn't... Alex Smith is an efficient game manager. That's what he is. Does that win in the NFL on a consistent basis? No. |

Alex Smith could have a 4,000+-yard season here? |
Quote:
But in a Dick Vermeil offense? Could I see Alex Smith throwing for 4000 yards? Yeah, absolutely. |
Quote:
Alex Smith doesn't fit a Vermeil offense, either. You know this. |
Quote:
and no, I'm not betting that. I don't even like the Smith move. I'm just not a complete ****ing moron who needs to be a drama queen and start comparing him to Matt Cassel because he certainly isn't Matt Cassel. |

Kennison and Morton ran 12 yard dig routes! THAT'S DOWNFIELD PASSING!
ALEX SMITH IS A CAREER 10% PASSER ON 12 YARD DIGS. |
Quote:
Alex Smith almost literally throws 75 percent of his passes under 10 yards. So go ahead and keep ****ing that chicken, hootie. |
Quote:
I AIM'd you before he won the Super Bowl that year...before they went on that run...and was like, "you know who has impressed me this year?! Eli Manning." and then you chastised me and told me how terrible he was and how stupid I was I don't think you know what you're watching. |
Deceiving thread title considering Alex Smith is 20-6-1 and has played well in the playoffs.
Not really the definition of "suck". |
Trent Green threw 188 passes in the 11-30 yard range in 2003.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/splits...03/trent-green Alex Smith threw 102 passes in the 11-30 yard range in 2011. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/splits...011/alex-smith Go ahead and tell me Alex can run that offense! Let's not even go over the fact that 49ers fans tell us Alex refuses to throw the ball into tight windows down the field. Alex Smith under no circumstances will be as good as Trent Green here. |
Quote:
I seem to remember Alex Smith winning more in SF. LMAO |
Quote:
|
Trent Green never threw into tight windows, either! LMAO
that was my biggest complaint the Huard/Green year... my entire premise was... "Huard is the shitty QB that forces the ball to Gonzalez and Bowe when they are covered and that is why he needs to play because Green won't do it and just takes constant sacks..." literally that was my argument for Huard...that he let our playmakers make plays and Green wouldn't throw into those windows because he was too smart/too used to the Vermeil offense where he always had an open guy lololol |
Quote:
Trent wasn't that great of a QB. He was hidden behind the best OL I've ever seen and a strong running game. I'm willing to see if Reid can surround Alex Smith with necessary tools to succeed here, because he's played well in the playoffs before and there's no reason to believe he can't again. |
This is just hilarious. Alex Smith has 6 TD's to 0 INT's in his 2 playoff games and he sucks?
JFC people the guy only had 1 year with a decent OC before Harbaugh showed up. Reid thinks he has even more potential. Let's wait and see. |
Quote:
In fact he got into trouble over forcing the ball sometimes. Don't make me post ****ing GIFs. Alex Smith is a goddamn checkdown king and you think he can run Vermeil's offense. LOL at you. |
Smith are Green are not the same QB. Green's passes in the 20 yard range are fast and flat compared to Smith's. Highlights don't tell everything, but clearly Green has more of downfield game than Smith. It's not clear at all that Smith could have ran the Saunders offense as well as Green.

post .gifs of the Green/Huard year...you're going to find a whole lot more Huard fitting the ball into windows than Trent Green. |
Alex Smith basically never, ever makes throws like this. He wouldn't even attempt this.
