Yup he's not 1-1 but he's 1-2 or 1-3. I wan Geno or any qb taken first to light it up so the real fans can possibly take off their blinders.

Folks can continue to put their money down on the horse with the busted knee. That's their right to do so. I'll abstain.

As a group, we are all excited as shit to see the team moving in a positive direction with a FO that seems to know how to improve the team. Do we all want a franchise QB? You bet. To a man, not one guy thinks anyone is worth 1.1 though.

It'll be alot of fun being a fan of the Chiefs over the next couple of years as they build this franchise back up to a winner.

Not one guy is worth the number one pick - but you have the number one pick, so what the hell are you going to do with it? The number one pick is worth exactly what the best player in the draft is worth to the team. So obviously SOMEONE is worth the number one pick.

Right. The Jags sent an army to Geno's proday and the Eagles owner went to watch him so he must be good enough to consider for 1.2 and 1.4, but in no way 1.1, because he's we've got Alex "200 yards 1 td 0 picks lose 24-14" Smith.

no need to get caught up in all that....you have 3 QB's. :thumb:

kcxiv 03-14-2013 09:18 AM

Disappointing no doubt.

Rausch 03-14-2013 10:01 AM

Late to the show here.

Watching this:

1) They clearly wanted Alex from day one. They identified him as their guy and (got ****ed) managed to get him.

2) I'm somewhere near the 5 minute mark and Phat Andy has been asked two questions and he already sounds out of wind. He either always sounds like that or he'll have no ability in the 4th quarter to chew out his struggling QB.

This worries me.

3)"I'm not going to try to do too much, I'll stay within myself, and I'll try to win games."

Eh.....fahk...Not the speech I expect from a guy with his football IQ. Not what I want to hear from our "New QB for many years in the future."

4)"Chase pushed Drew every day he was there. He provided competiton. And that allwed Drew to be better than he could have been. "

Andy, that's just ****ing stupid. It's one thing to try and justify a signing but...really...just....don't let me hear a zipper and then say it's a prostate exam.

5)12:15 minute mark my wife (watching over my shoulder) points out that "He's hot. I hope you keep him. I mean, he's got really big ears but I like guys with big ears."

:doh!:

6) Question: "John, how difficult was it to part with that 2nd round pick."

Dorsey: "That's one thing we really don't talk about is compensation or how we go about a trade. I've never really talked about that. I don't think that's a good policy to set."

Ok, first question I love the answer to. You can tell we didn't get him for what we wanted but immediately he knows to clamp down.

7)At 14:23 the wife says "He's got ears like the guys from those Ring movies. Not that he's not sexy (which I found odd. Like she expected me to find him sexy) but he looks like that guy from Star Wars."

She means Star Trek. She's right.

He's got Spock ears...

8) Listening to the rest the guy (Alex) comes off as being very intelligent and very dedicated to the game. Odds are True-Fans will fall in love immediately. Unlike Girlbac or Bono he does have the personality and brains to be a legit franchise guy. I do think the team will buy in. I do think they'll like this guy and when he blows chunks they'll elevate their game.

I think he's too smart for his own good and when pressed takes safe over big play. I think we signed the perfect Marty QB 20 years too late...

It was a blast going to games and being a chiefs fan from 1989 through 2006. There was a lean year here and there, but by and large, it was winning football. I believethe chiefs won the most regular season games of the decade of the '90s of any team in the NFL.

No, we didn't win a championship, and that sucked. We were a quarterback hit and a dropped kimble anders td away though.

we don't have blinders. I'd have given up three first round picks to move up and get Luck from the colts LAST year. I'd like Geno as well, but it's not happening, so move on.

You still sending love letters to your 9th grade crush? Move on man. the wars over.

I'm sure excuse #1 from you if Geno busts will be "at least they tried". How's Oakland looking for "at least trying" right now? You will be shitting on the FO in 4 years because they didn't take whoever it is that ends up being a probowler from this draft. It's what you do. You bitch.

Exactly! That goes for QB and every other position. This draft lacks those draw dropping blue chip prospects. Because of that you have to choose between a bunch of solid players with upside.

Which 1 player can do the most to improve a team if he pans out? A CB? No, Revis has helped the Jets a lot, but one position has really held them back. A 3-4 DL? No, a guy like Ngata is nice, but the team didn't pose a big threat until some other position stepped up consistently in the post-season. An OT when the team already has a good quality LT? No, Joe Thomas is nice, but Cleveland hasn't turned around. Gee, I wonder what position it could be?

Yes, because being ****ing "risk adverse" has gotten us so far the last 30 years. I get it. Some fans are happy with 8-8, throw back a few beers, have some good BBQ, and sleep well at night. I'm just not one of those guys. Sorry.

The franchise has been consistent and the fans are as well.

At some point you have to realize that you, as a rational person, are the problem.

I understand. For me it's like quitting heroin or crack or some other pulling drug...

Dorsey didn't want to talk about giving up our second round draft pick. Dick.
