I feel bad for the kid, but the asshats around here who were all about taking him at 1.1, and would brook no alternatives, are getting some well deserved comeuppance, given that he's still on the board at 2.1.

Now, it could be that you were all correct and the entire NFL is wrong. Could be. However, anybody who actually watched Geno Smith during the second half of last season knew that he wasn't 1.1 material. Personally, I like Geno, but good lord people...if you're going to be so sure about something, do your homework first. |
Geno still sitting shows me exactly how dumb some of the fans are here... I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer but even I saw this coming...
Obviously the Cheaps weren't that stupid either... Fish is a good pick, he will be an anchor on that line for a good decade. |
...and a voice from the heavens spake saying "This is my son, Geno Smith, in whom I am well pleased".

When this boards famed qb gurus like claynus and ror get behind a qb run the other ****ing way.

I didn't even realize that Geno called out ESPN on NFL Network on earlier this week and tweeted it.
Jesus. This kid is almost as immature as Ryan Leaf. Pouts, calls people out and doesn't take responsiblity. No wonder nobody touched him in the first round. He has talent, but my God his intangibles might be some of the worst I've seen from any QB in years. I said it 8 months ago and I'll say it again: Geno Smith is not a leader. |

Really. |
The entire league agreed w/ them about all these QBs which makes it much more palatable. Plus the potential for still getting one tonight is there.
Just a bad yr to be picking one looking for a franchise QB. Maybe they'll find Russell Wilson in the 3r. It's all we have left to hope for |

I was a Geno supporter. But I'm not gona cry and pout like Clay and say the NFL is racist ROFL

I didn't like the way he is doing this, but I do feel bad. It was his mom's birthday and she had to sit there watching here son's embarrassment. People on here are dissing Geno because some of us liked him. I didn't knock anyone if they didn't like him.

To say the hyperbole about Smith reached ridiculous levels would be an understatement, and I like Smith as a prospect. No matter where he's picked I think he has a chance of success. |
Nolan Nawrocki says - I told you so.

Geno is this year's Jimmy Claussen
|
Hey, a special shout out to all the guys parroting the idea that Geno wouldn't be drafted because our GM is a coward. All 32 GM's are cowards! It couldn't possibly be that Geno wasn't viewed as that great of a prospect!

You talk about, you have to be big , strong an a freak to be drafted high as a black man. The people on the board have pointed out many examples and you have an excuse for everyone. Geno fell because his career is going the same way it always has. He was not highly recruited in college, he has tons of flaws. Many scouts believe he has sub par mechanics and decision making. Most 100% believe his numbers were an illusion and he just was not worth the top pick or a first rounder. As to your comment about the Raiders passing on him and its just a bunch of old white men making decisions. You sir are out of your mind. Most GMs and coaches in todays NFL are very young and progressive. The Raiders GM is Reggie Mckenzie ( a black man) who passed on Geno because he evaluated him and decided he wasnt the guy. Take your racist argument and "kick rocks" tell your story walkin. No one cares here. |
I think Geno, Nassib and Barkley will go pretty quick near the top of round 2. No idea the order.

Nawrocki was right in every point about Cam Newton's personality and attitude a couple of years ago. His evaluation of Geno must be in line with what the NFL believes.
|
I was a Geno supporter but never told the non-Geno guys they're dumbasses for not being on Geno.

Ouch. Watching ESPN and saw Geno just sitting there with his head in his hands. That's sad.

But I read MORE comments from Geno fans regarding how stupid this front office would be if they selected anyone else but Geno at 1.1... |
Out with the obsolete comparisons to Akili Smith, Vince Young, and JaMarcus Russell.
In with the comparisons to Pat White, Jarius Jackson, Tee Martin, Ted White, and Casey Printers. |
Even though I want Geno smith I think it's a mistake for him to just leave the draft.

The argument was QB at 1.1, and NO TRADES for shitty ****ing Alex Smiths. Tyler Wilson was still in the "I'll take it" category when he was playing during the season. So was Matt Barkley. We've had this conversation like 30 different times. It was NEVER "Geno or I'm killing everybody" |
