So what are the expectations for this week/season? Anything you're hoping to see from the new regime?

In all seriousness, i'd like to see some competitiveness from the team as a whole... Not just individual players. Under Weissass and Radio, you'd have a player here and there that were competitive... but the rest of the team seemed to run in slow motion. As if they were afraid to fail (or succeed for that matter).
I want to see kids playing football, not going through the motions. |
In all honesty, this has got to be about the perfect time for a coach to lead a Snyderesque turnaround. You could look at every other coach in the conference save Gary Patterson and make a compelling argument that they won't be there beyond the 2016 season.
|
Damn was hoping to make a gsme, but my football travel schedule is insane already this year. Will be heading to Rocky top to watch the Sooners and TN.

I think what's going on at Baylor is going to blow up big. That school has simply sold their souls to the devil to win in both football and basketball and I think it's finally going to catch up with them. What sucks for KU fans is that on Friday night Baylor will be starting a QB that was committed to the Hawks up until the day Turner Gill was fired. My point is that talent on Power 5 programs can swift very quickly and with the right staff in place Beaty could be in a great position to move his program to the middle of the pack sooner than later. TCU is here to stay. The school and fans are shit but the coach is great. This must frustrate UT and OU to no end but that is not within Kansas' concern this year. I want a win Saturday. And I want a comfortable win. KU is strong at RB, DE, and TE. The OL has come together better than the staff has originally predicted as has the interior defensive linemen. I think KU wins 38-17. From what I've heard this staff is focused on details and preparation unlike the past two head coaches. Could this be BS? Possibly... but at the onset of the season a fan typically gives the benefit of the doubt. As KU fans we want to see a professionally run game with few mistakes and missed assignments...even if that means the most talented players aren't on the field. This is the only way to build a program. If you look back at the good KU teams 7-10 years ago you saw disciplined line play that rarely got called for holding, false starts, etc. That needs to happen. TG and Weis both ran teams that opted to put the "most talented player" on the field as opposed to insisting that those players follow their assignments to a "t". Those are the types of things I'll be looking for more on Saturday as opposed to the scoreboard. Regardless it's great to be back and playing ball. For some reason this offseason has felt impossibly long. |

Good post Bambi.
I'm with you but I don't think we are beating anyone 38-17 |

Watch out for Steven Sims. From all accounts KU has a real steal with this kid. Joshua Stanford brings good size and should be better skilled than anyone on the opposing team's roster. The running backs are solid. It will all come down to Montell. I'm willing to cut the kid a break because the past two seasons have been a trainwreck for his development. When Beaty came in he put plenty of pressure on MC and that will include this Saturday. Ryan Willis has a cannon for an arm and is by far the best thrower on the team. It won't take long for the true freshman to get on the field if things aren't working out for MC. I feel KU has more options than originally thought. Either way it's going to be fun. |

They went to Bettis private party and met him in person. Bettis moved through the crowd quickly to get to the person we flew up there. Cried when he hugged him. Had no idea they were that close. Still pisses me off that j could of went. |
I really don't have expectations in year 1. This sets the baseline. Ask me next season...
We have a pair of season tickets and all I know is that my 5 year old has been talking about Saturday's game for the past 2 weeks. That's pretty awesome for me. |
We have a group from NYC to the Rutgers game in a couple weeks.
If anyone is in the area and wants to go PM me. |

It's tougher to get into TCU than ku. Plus, our fans actually go to our sporting events in multiple sports. You're right that we're not your concern. We win conference championships in sports that matter. You guys just suck. |

TCU was 9th in football attendnace last year in the Big 12. |

I can't think of anything more pathetic. TCU is a try-hard |
Going to the season opener on Saturday. I don't expect much but hope to see improvement in the coaching. KU lost a several good players on that defense. Heck, I think I read the other day that they only have 4 starters (offense and defense) returning from last year. In a way that's good but we lost a lot of experience. Beaty is starting from the ground up.
Lol at KCnutbag for thinking that hoops isn't a sport that matters. |

Because we have one of the smallest stadiums in the conference. TCU used 99.4% of its capacity for all of the home games. Oklahoma, Kstate, and Baylor were the only ones higher. |

You really are an innumerate idiot. TCU's stadium holds 45k. Our season tickets are sold out. Individual tickets for our decent home games are pretty much sold out. Our basketball teams played in a community college gym last year because our basketball stadium was being renovated (another thing that severely constrained capacity). Oh hey look, here's us playing against weak ass sand aggie (who's still way better than ku) and our stadium is full. http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/b...-christian.jpg Here's people sitting in GA since our baseball stadium was full. https://cmgstatesmancollegesports.fi...m-tcu_7_ft.jpg But hey, you can get a coupon to watch ku play a top-tier bible aggie team. Such awesome attendance. and here's ku vs. texas tech. http://worldonline.media.clients.ell...2efdf5419cfee3 |
TCU played in the Peach Bowl last year.
It was the first time in 17 years the Peach Bowl didn't sell-out. When your brand is shit, your brand is shit. |

Just to back up what I said earlier, I found the pics of the home opener in 2012. This was the first game under Weis and it was against South Dakota State.

Big 12 standings:
Football record: KU 9th Football attendance: TCU 9th TCU fans performed about like the KU football team. |
