Yea I don't have game center I rely on the local broadcasts and sometimes they are blacked out. That or a shitty stream. Extra stoked in off work beer is cold and I get to watch on tv

Looks great on the PS4, can definitely see the difference... basically like I'm watching cable.

If only I can get it working on my laptop so I can get 3 or 4 more games on at a time...

DaFace 02-02-2016 07:21 PM

I'm hoping that my workaround for blackouts works in 40 minutes...

So yeah, this rollout of NHL.tv has been awful. The support forum is a blood bath.

https://www.nhl.com/info/nhltv-support

Hope they get their shit figured out quickly. I have no idea why they did this in the middle of the season rather than waiting until they could roll it out during preseason games or something.

Yeah, it started out well on the PS4, but I never got to watch the Avalanche game, and the other streams stopped loading around the same time. I got rid of the Flash error on my laptop, but never got past the spinning circle.

I'm guessing they gain a decent number of subscribers this time of year, but that's still not a good reason to do it now versus working out the kinks during the preseason/early October games.

I feel like the NHL is covering their concussion spotters and cratering to the Officials Union.

The NHLOA was making noise about being pissed if a harsh suspension wasn't doled out and if the NHL only gave him 10, they'd essentially be accepting his 'woozy' argument and would have to answer for the fact that they let him go back out there despite the concussion protocols.

I think it's bullshit, truth be told. There's no way you can convince me a guy like Wideman was deliberately looking to blast a linesman.

I generally agree, but the precedent of "if you're woozy, you can blast an official and get away with it" doesn't work either.

I probably would have voted for 10 games rather than 20, but I can't blame them for doing it.

How 'bout "if you're woozy, have no history of trouble with the league and no discernible motive to blast an official, then if hit one, we'll take your word for it..."?

New World Order 02-03-2016 05:32 PM

I recently started skating to prepare for rec hockey (as I have no idea how to skate). I've decided to start following hockey, but not sure who would be a good team to root for. I'm guessing the majority in here are pulling for the Blues?

There was a motive. He'd just been boarded hard with no call.

Aside from that, I still have no issue with it just because of the precedent. If you're so woozy that you can't tell a ref from a player, you shouldn't be playing the rest of the game.

Bearcat 02-03-2016 05:42 PM

I don't think I've been that woozy before, and if so, there wasn't a ref around to crosscheck in the back... seriously though, I can see the point that if he was that disoriented, it's harder to make the woozy argument if he went right back into the game on the next shift (if that happened).

Pretty mixed bag, really. Blues are probably the most common team, but I'd bet we've got representation from half of the league.

Where do you live? Your life will be a lot easier if you can at least find a team that will be on locally most of the time.

DJ's left nut 02-03-2016 05:48 PM

The Blues are the best team for Chiefs fans... they don't make the conference finals (much less the Cup finals) very often, but they'll rip your heart out more often than the Chiefs.

Don't know if it's the majority here... some Avalanche fans (3 mods/former mods), some Blues, a Panthers fan for some reason, a Kings fan, Pens, Leafs, lewdog went to a Coyotes game once.

.per Darren Dreger TSA. Dustin Byfuglien has been extended in Winnipeg for 5 years at 7.6 Million per season.

Smart signing and the five years is a huge plus for Winnipeg...this also confirms how Byfuglien WANTED to stay in Winnipeg, because he would have gotten 7 as a UFA...no doubt.

This could however affect the future of Trouba in Winnipeg and could perhaps open up the possibility of a Hamonic for Trouba deal..

Happy with the Buff signing. I'm hearing the same rumors for a Harmonic for Trouba deal. Wouldn't be too upset with that trade but I'd rather package in Ladd and try to get something better in return.

The poll results are kind of interesting. We really do have more than half the league represented (18 out of 30 by my quick count). Granted a few guys are fans of multiple teams, but still, the diversity is striking.

I read yesterday that the official was held overnight at a hospital for observation. Bettman also referenced a text from Wideman to a teammate in which he showed no remorse and was essentially blaming all this on "stupid" refs and the media.

http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/14...ame-suspension

Bettman added that he was troubled by Wideman's "total failure to accept any responsibility for his actions." He noted that while Wideman made much at the appeal hearing about apologizing to Henderson, "The sincerity of those apologies rings somewhat hollow, given the text message he sent to a teammate on February 2 -- after the conclusion of the hearing before (vice president of hockey operations Colin Campbell) -- that 'the only problem and the only reason I'm here is cause the stupid refs and stupid media.'"
