Arnold Palmer is looking frail in the Xarelto commercial.. Ugh...
No walks this inning Yordy.
I ****ing hate Rios.

Goddammit, we are wasting a brilliant performance by Yordano Ventura.
At least he's giving me hope that we'll have a true ace for the future... |
Scary part of their lineup now...
Are the Royals capable of hitting a breaking ball?

By looking at the cuts they're taking, it looks like the Astros actually measured the 3rd base line and know how short it is.

People can say it's been like this for a while all they want, but I don't think that's true.... not to this level. And that's not to say they can't win this game, of course, but it's a bit more annoying than "that's baseball" at this point. |
Alex Rios is the Colin Cowherd of baseball players.
(****ing shitty as ****.) |
I don't like this

Uh-oh.

Kuechel would have gotten that call.
another 2-out walk. **** me, at some point, they are going to stick it up our ass
At best McCullers only makes it through 6 at this point. He took an inning too long to spot his fastball so his pitch count got away from him.
And man, the parade of mediocre relievers the Royals will get to face after McCullers comes out has got to get them salivating. Ventura is doing an absolutely baller job today. If you can get this game to the bullpens tied, you have to see that as a huge HUGE victory. |

Funny how the Astros don't go up there hacking at everything after our pitcher gives up a walk. Strange confusing strategy.

Phew - that's exactly that 2-1 pitch to Correa is the exact kind of pitch that would terrify me.
He hung that breaker over the outer third and Correa just missed it. That could've been an oppo dong really easily. |
****
That's probably game.
****.
****
And there it is.
Rios is such a completely useless sack of shit.
Welp..............
Ugh. Hurtful.
Ventura has a clinical ability to get two outs and then shit his pants.
Dagger
**** you, Alex Rios.
Game. Set. Match. Clutch hitting at it's finest
What a terrible ****ing pitch
Walks suck.
Did Rios think that ball was going to go through the wall?
Two-out walks, man
That had to be a curve there ... ****ing stupid gutless pitch and pitch call

Must be nice to get big hits in big spots.
Yeah Rios should get AIDS, but Ventura got totally owned by Correa today
Like this whole goofy part, that wall has a narrative all its own.
Not too certain what you would have had Rios do differently there.
And that's why you keep working them inside. The armside run that Ventura was getting all day today took that from a perfect strike on the black to a ball that carried right into the zone and got smoked opposite field.
I know it's the third time through the order and you have to give them different looks, but they were playing with fire there. Then again, sometimes you just tip your cap to an incredibly talented hitter. Sure, the pitch got more plate than you'd like, but most guys still don't hit it that hard. Correa did an incredible job keeping his head down on that ball. |
RIP Royals. Fun season though.
The Astros starting pitching has been the difference so far. We just can't get the critical out

Still a lot of game left guys
Two hits for us today.
Words can't describe how gutless that pitch and pitch call were. Astros deserve this series ... I'm praying for luck but not seeing it. You can't get starting pitching you can't win
Thank God for Gattis.
I really hate Rios.

I hate to say it, but I have zero faith in this team to come back.
Ugh. |
So we hit the guy and then he goes on to win the game for them.
COME ON ROYALS, WE NEED A ****ING RALLY FOR A CHANGE
Has Pete quit yet? Cause once hes done, Im throwing in the towel.

Do you think Ventura is going be any better next year or years to come ? Or is he at what we are going get? I still like the kid but don't trust him any more than I trust Chiefs. |
I hope these bastards get killed in the ALCS.

If he could've thrown that pitch at the center of the plate, the run takes it into the RH batter's box and Correa swings over top of it. Ventura's curve just never came around today. When it was sharp, it was low. When he found the release point, he didn't find the break. It was either a ball or a cripple pitch and very little in-between. I don't see how you can have that much angst over the pitch selection itself with as good as Ventura's hard stuff has worked today. |
