Aaaaaand it missed us again. At one point, we were predicted to get 5-8 inches of snow. They kept changing it until, finally, they landed on 1-2 inches Saturday afternoon. It didn't event cover the grass, and the roads were never really got all that bad. Again, just really cold.

Got damn its cold

Looks like you will be getting rid of a lot of it with rain Thursday and Saturday
|
Btw while you guys are arguing about whether 0 degrees or 100 degrees is worse, it's 72 and sunny out here in this desolate hellhole no sane person would ever want to live in.
Just saying. |

I generally like the winter and snow but this year there haven’t been any breaks at all that last a few days. I usually get some great fishing in during the winter when there is about a week of 40s to maybe 50 degrees but there has been none of that at all this season.

I'd live in a desert, if I had A/C, working hi-speed internet and guaranteed delivery services.
It's clean. https://y.yarn.co/59e6201d-9c38-43d5...screenshot.jpg |
I would take Phoenix before Florida.

Awesome Glory!!!!! And it ended in January. I would love to see the next 3 months.
15 on the ground, some melt today. 8-12 expected Saturday. |
KC people love SD (it was actually my first exposure to California in 8th grade, which inspired me to move out here). But they think LA is like the 8th circle of hell.
In reality LA is a huge mish-mash of neighborhoods - many of which are pretty much like SD or better. (Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica, South Bay, Long Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Malibu). Also Hollywood, Culver City, Echo Park, Los Feliz, Studio City, Silverlake, Downtown - and a bunch more I can't remember right now - are more inland but still really cool places to live. |
<--- could not afford to live in North Hollywood.

Snow removal at MSP

Rain here right now, changing to snow. Will get maybe 1 inch.
Have probably 6 inches on the ground, and rain and snow mix Monday night thru Thursday, like over 2 inches of rain. Man it will be a mess. |

Snowing like hell all night with about 4-5" down already. It's supposed to snow until the afternoon. We are supposed to get into the mid-50s by next week so it looks like winter decided on one last kick in the nuts before it left.
|
Looks like one more for the folks up in MN/ND, then it looks like global warming may return to melt the snow.

We will get 2 inches of rain with 14 inches of snow on the ground. What a mess. |
From my weatherman friend Brad:
Heads up, Wichita and most of Kansas. The morning thunder is just the start of what will be an interesting 24 hours. A potentially historic (or unprecedented) low pressure area is expected to move out into the plains on Wed. As it moves into the plains it is expected to deepen rapidly. Something we in the weather field, called "bombo-genesis". Where the low "bombs out". This will lead to potentially damaging wind gusts of 50 to 65 mph across most of southern and eastern KS for Wed afternoon. Think low end hurricane strength winds. So please, prepare now, strap down things in the yard, or outside. Trampolines, trash cans, chairs. I would not be surprised to see power outages. Also abundant moisture will be pulled north, which may lead to heavy rainfall and possible flooding, due to lots of runoff because of partially frozen ground. Most areas may see over an inch of rain, with some areas across central KS, getting 1 to 2 inches of rain. Front is moving through the southwest now. Rain all night and today here. |
Is Brad as fried as you?
|
Sorry. Not a post about defense or Eric Berry

Denver is crazy right now, snow has been dumping for hours with constant wind speeds like we never see here accompanied by snow. The national guard has been called in to rescue stranded motorists, basically all fire and police out rescuing and shutting down interstates, I-25 and I-70 are essentially closed for any meaningful travel in the state, somewhere around 250k+ w/o power due to heavy snow and wind taking down huge trees, trees smashing cars in the streets, it's snowmaggedon! Every screen in my house in every direction is caked with snow on the screens from the swirling snow, posting from an igloo.

Stay safe out there
