Sounds like Brady gave Tampa Bay a hometown discount!

I think Sammy is an ideal fit for Green Bay. They're probably not interested in trading all that much, but I'm sure they'd throw a mid-lower round pick, which is certainly better than nothing if you're the Chiefs.

It’s not all big fish free agents being picked up today. There’s a blend of talent going off the board. There’s no reason to hold onto Watkins right now if they know they’re just going to cut him. |
I could be wrong, but I don't think GB has cap space for Sammy.

Buffalo rising. That defense is a buzzsaw.
|
Quote:
They paid a nice chunk to two guys that aren’t going to make a huge impact on their pass rush while also taking a significant amount of snaps from their young guys (Hurst, Ferrell, Cosby). For these moves, they should’ve just been very aggressive with Jones and pulled it off. |
Quote:
And Mayock was never getting Jones. Veach and Andy would never have traded Jones to the Raiders. Only Billy O'Brien is that stupid. |
Sign a #1 WR.
Another one. I want more touchdowns. I wish our defense wasn't so good last year so Jimmy G would have completed that deep pass in the 4th quarter so we could score again. More excitement. |
Have we signed a piece of SHIT yet???

Yeah Vegas added a lot of “solid” talent today but nothing that I see moving the needle quite yet. QB is still a big problem too until proven otherwise.
As it stands this moment, Denver is the 2nd best team in the West and there’s a large gap between them and KC. |

His release or a trade would free up $14 million, but $7 million in dead money would be created. An extension could help the cap and keep a major weapon around. LDT, Reiter, Sorenson, Colquitt all potential cut candidates. Clark re-structure potentially in play. I’m skeptical of a Jones trade. I think he plays on the tag. |
Since the trades don't take effect until that deadline on Wednesday, does that mean we have to be under the cap before we can complete any trades? In other words, is our only choice for freeing up cap space through restructure or cutting?

They can dump Erving and restructure Clark and be under the cap.

Erving will save you 3.25 mil

With McCoy leaving Carolina, I wonder if Matt Rhule wants to make a splash and fill a need with arguably the best defensive tackle in the game in a trade with the Chiefs?
Panthers have over $25 million in cap space. Bridgewater for Cam is a push salary wise, pending a trade of Newton. Panthers receive Chris Jones + Chiefs 2020 1st (#32) = 590 points trade value chart Chiefs receive Panthers 2020 1st (#7) + 2020 3rd (#69) = 1745 points trade value chart Net trade value chart points = 1155 points or the equivalent of the 13th pick overall. |

Like, I know we're not signing anybody. I was just looking for some cut or trade. Something to stir shit up around here. |
Panthers are tanking for Lawrence. I don’t see them making a move like that this early in the process. Sounds good in theory though.
There just aren’t a lot of potential suitors for Jones. The best bet is absolutely the Dolphins. They are the only team left with the draft capital and cap space to make this trade. |

Ways to save money by keeping everyone:
Save 10m by extending Sammy Save 6+m by extending Fisher Save 6m by extending Kelce Can restructure Frank Clark to save 12m. Ways to save money through cuts: Sammy Watkins 14m LDT 5m Colquit 2m Sorensen 3.75m Reiter 3.5m |
We won’t extend Kelce until Kittle signs his new deal. I’m fine with extending Fisher I just don’t want to hear CP talk shit about him again.
|
Fisher took Bosa out of the game in the 4th quarter when we made our run. He was pretty good all year. Possibly top 10 and he moves well and that’s a huge bonus in this system.
He’s a solid LT that we could probably add 2 years to his deal and keep his number reasonable. |

Yep, because trade value points win Superbowls!! |

My position on Jones has always been to extend him long term. Try following along. Many have been speculating as to possible suitors and Jones value, so I put forward a logical scenario. |
Bills just went all in on Stephon Diggs, Vikes raped them...

Danny Shelton just went to the Lions. I know some people thought Jones could possibly got there. Well not anymore

Slow WR market = teams are lowballing FAs knowing the draft is loaded at WR
Happened with safeties a few years back I’d sell Watkins and his agent on that to agree to an extension |
