HatWire, what area of Florida are you coming to?

Also…. Why is this thread I’m the RR?

Headed to Orlando, my brother got us a villa and stocked it for us, everything from steaks to the wife's coffee creamer.

Leaving Monday and will be down all week.

When do you head back? Might be able to make it if you're around Sat/Sun, if you're up for more visitors.

We're leaving Monday night from Springfield. Coming back at 6am Saturday morning

Eleazar 03-02-2023 12:49 PM

Enjoy the trip, Hay - hope it's a blast!

Your condition sounds similar to mine. I have to get the fluid drained from my gut once a week, no fun but feel better after it's done. Usually about 3 liters. Quality of life isn't great. Not able to work or drive a and my days consist of binge watching shows and vomiting a couple times a day. Eating is pretty difficult and no alcohol. But I guess the fentanyl oxy and pot gummies can make up for that.

On the positive side spending lots of quality time with my wife, parents, kids and dogs.

I can't even imagine going to pick out a coffin like you and seclark have done. If I just try to get little things in order my wife hen pecks "Stop thinking negatively!!" But I'm a pretty pragmatic guy and I try to balance positive thinking and unrealistic expectations. My wife works days so might have to get the coffin shopping done while she is at work.

It's great you are traveling, I want to do some traveling also but I'm not sure how I'd do in the car for a long period of time or on a plane. Don't like to be away from the bathroom too long.

Hang in there and fight hard!!! Thoughts and prayers are with you. Awesome avatar btw!!!

You got it bro. You sound a lot like me.

I'm afraid of the travel for the same reasons. Not really looking forward to leaving tomorrow but the rest of my family is excited. I think I'm just a long for the ride.

You've warmed me over for the moment. Do more posts like this and not be an ass.

As you said, we're Chiefs fans... nothing more.

Busting balls is good. Being a douche is bad.

****.

Can I have the leg lamp?

...sorry.

Going from lurker status of 10+ years to Romper Room Mod has been epic. I still remember the belly laughs from the bunny suit pics a couple holidays ago.

Your legacy will live on with your kid, who I can only assume is as much of a stand-up guy as you've been through all this shit. Godspeed, my internet friend.

And that bunny suit will hang in the Hall of Classics forever.

I'm glad you were able to keep coming around here for as long as you did. I hope we were able to bring a little levity into what I have to imagine has been a challenging year.

Would you be OK with us moving this back into the Lounge for visibility? It's your call, but I think others would appreciate knowing about your update.

HayWire, thanks for sharing a bit of this journey. I'm glad you were able to make a family trip. I hope these last few weeks can go as well as possible and everything that needs to be done, like the goodbyes, can be accomplished.

This hurts
We’ve communicated since he announced on this thread that he was sick.
Compared notes, encouragement, joked, etc.
So much in common except for the fact that he’s such a young man, whereas I had pretty much retired and all my kids were grown.
He’s brave
He’s caring
He’s just a good man
I’m sorry I never got to shake my brothers hand
But I will

Heywire while we didn't interact much here I did follow your journey in romper room. You are about to end the journey of this earth and join into your heavily reward. You have faced your fate with strength honor and dignity like other CPers that went before. My prayers go out and up for your family in this trying time. I wish you a peaceful painless journey.

With nothing for words to say in this time I will leave you with an old Irish Blessing my father used for friend who went befor.

“May joy and peace surround you, Contentment latch your door, And happiness be with you now, And bless you evermore."

If you get to Heaven before me, please tell my old cat Noodles I said sup. He was big, orange, had a fluffy tail and hated black people. He'd come back in the house from prowling around (and peeing on black peoples' cars) to take a shit. I guess he was bashful. He was awesome.

Chieftain 05-25-2023 07:11 PM

You have handled your prognosis very well, with positivity and a clear mind. Not many can say this. Death is something that we all will meet one day. Memories and the people we shared it with last forever. You got to enjoy the Chiefs winning two SBs. Reast easy and enjoy these days with your loved ones.

Been a privilege reading your posts, looking at your pics and sharing your journey.
