LMAO LMAO

Ahhh the Knowmo defense. Traditionally takes the form of something like, "But you had Jovan Belcher..."

Even funnier that you're comparing KG to a talentless hack like JJ.

KC_Connection 02-05-2023 07:36 PM

Memphis talks a lot of shit for a team that hasn't accomplished anything, that's for sure. I have to root for them come playoff time to stop Steph and the Warriors, but they're becoming quite Bengals-like.

Barnes also just dominated them down the stretch of tonight's game to beat them (without Ja, who I gather was sitting out because he and his family are involved in some gangster shit?).

So you’re taking the knowmo defense of not even following along with the conversation. What does JJ have to do with anything? Or are you switching it to be JJ because you know comparing Morant to Garnett would be hilarious. I love that Steven Adams and JJ are the reasons you hate Memphis so much. What did those guys do?

You mean a top 5 all time at his position compared to Morant, who might not even be top 5 at his position in the past 20 years?

Sure, let's go with Morant, then. You're gonna tell me a guy like KG who tells Carmelo Anthony on the court that his wife tastes like honey nut cheerios is just as bad as this Morant shit?

Than having his friends point a laser pointer at somebody? I don’t know. It all seems kind of childish to me. I know most players hated Garnett and he definitely will go down ranked as a dirtier player than Morant or anybody on this Grizz team. That’s all I care about, though. What they’re doing on the court. You can call them the Bengals all you want to and it’s deserved, but I’d bet anyone on this board that the Grizzlies get a championship well before the Bengals do. This team is setup for the long haul. It’s why they’re getting so many haters and I’m loving it. Never did I think that the Grizzlies and Chiefs would be setup for the best chance at long term success. I’m just gonna enjoy the ride.

Meyers Leonard being terrible might have had a little more than something to do with being out of the league.

See Kyrie Irving as an example for what teams are willing to put up with if the talent is there.

Funny. Nets owner was going to send Kyrie anywhere but LA lol.

Quote:

[Marc Stein via Substack] The Nets also succeeded, as one source close to the process put it, in meeting one of the presumed objectives held by team owner Joe Tsai by sending Irving somewhere other than the Lakers – his preferred destination.

Further:

The Nets' refused Dallas' attempts to ship them Christian Wood's expiring contract or one of its less palatable long-term deals held by Tim Hardaway Jr. and Davis Bertans.

Wood is attracting interest from Clippers along with D'Angelo Russell.

Stein has previously mentioned, and again mentions that KD is big fan of Dorian Finney Smith.

LMAO James and his stans know he'll never be considered the GOAT with that paltry postseason resume he has. It's hilarious to watch them try and explain that away.

Sassy Squatch 02-07-2023 08:38 PM

The only argument he has now is longevity, and yearly stat whoring on a laughably depleted roster to a bottom 3rd finish in the standings severely diminishes even that.

LeBron was the best player in the game for about 15 years. Tom Brady was the best player in the game for exactly no years. Nice try though.

All players are only good defensively when they feel like it. In LeBron’s case, that was for about a decade. He’s one of the best defenders in the history of the game (11th all time in defensive win shares) and somebody would have to be incredibly ignorant or misguided to argue to the contrary.

Sassy Squatch 02-08-2023 09:15 AM

LMAO Couldn't have done it on a better night to showcase how ultimately meaningless the stat whoring is. Still lost to a Thunder team in the bottom third of the NBA lawl

Prime LeBron was great at every facet of the game. With his size, athleticism, IQ, work ethic, and dedication he should have owned the NBA. But LeBron was getting waxed in the finals more than his teams dominated. Not my Goat......never

He's a lying attention whore and faux intellectual who's played GM - poorly - at every stop he's had and then blamed others for his failed manipulations.

**** LeBron.

Great player; giant d-bag.

The Lakers are a bottom third NBA team and have been since Westbrook joined the team. Who cares if they lost to a similarly bad OKC team in a lost season?

Barely anyone in that crowd is watching history. They're watching their phones and recording a video they may never watch again.

Lebron always putting on a show. Great player to watch play over the years.

He did own the NBA. For just about two decades and counting now. You are free to believe MJ or anyone else was better than him (although the numbers say something quite different), but using faulty titles logic to make that argument has never made a lick of sense.

It’s that same silly logic that is going to keep some people from saying Patrick Mahomes is better than Tom Brady in about 5-10 years.

Sassy Squatch 02-08-2023 12:30 PM

LMAO It's 'faulty' logic now that there's literally no chance he'll ever redeem it. But we all remember the stans being desperate every offseason for Lebron to stack his team. Remember when Kawhi was labeled the enemy for daring to join the Clippers instead? ROFL

Why is one set of logic faulty and the other is not? Lol stats don't always tell the whole story.

Yes if Pat were to pass Brady in passing yards and still have only one Chip, Brady would still be better

It is and has always been faulty, ever since it was first being brought up in these threads a decade ago.

It's also a desperate and self-defeating argument too, especially given that LeBron has broken or is on the verge of breaking every statistical record in the history of basketball and that MJ doesn't even have the most titles (that would be Bill Russell). Granted, it's all the MJ backers have left so they're obviously going to cling to it as long as they can.

I'd also point out that LeBron could get to six titles if he so chose as well in the coming years. He's 38 years old and still averaging 30-9-7 as a top 5-10 player in the game. We're looking at the kind of quality at that age that has never been seen before in this league. Given what he looks like right now, it's not a huge leap at all to say he could continue to play in the NBA for well over a half decade more and certainly as a role player for a contender. If/when he leaves the disaster that is the Lakers in the next year or two, it's also a fair bet that he's going to go play with a #1 option who is even better than him. And LeBron as a #2 or #3 option on a team with a Giannis/Steph/Luka type as the star? Look out. Now I think LeBron is pretty comfortable at this point with his place in the game's history, but MJ's titles number will clearly fall too in time if LeBron wants it to.

Yep, I'm looking forward to the absolute clowns making this nonsense argument down the road. LMAO

Brady couldn't do one thing on the football field even close to as well as Patrick Mahomes and yet faulty rings logic for some is going to keep him above a clearly better player for the rest of his life. Make it make sense.

I question whether anyone who believes LBJ is better than MJ actually saw MJ play outside of Youtube videos.

You are beyond ****ing delusional.

Sassy Squatch 02-08-2023 01:12 PM

Wait, are we going to start acting like Lebron has failed to win championships because he doesn't 'want' to? LMAO Lebron has wanted to win titles with the easiest path ever since he got into the league. He blatantly colluded with Wade and Bosh starting in 06 and started the trend to these shitty super teams that ruin parity in the league. And STILL only managed 4 titles despite all his appearances in the Finals. It's laughably pathetic when you think about it.

Yup. I don't even argue about the titles. The eye ball test is all I've ever needed with MJ.

Sassy Squatch 02-08-2023 01:15 PM

Also, what organization in their right mind is going to bring in Lebron knowing Klutch is right behind him waiting to blow up the long term prospects of the team to make some shitty ****ing trade for a Westbrook or Irving.

That isn't what I said. I said LeBron could easily break that record NOW if he chose to. Look at him right now, the guy is going to play at a decent level in this league until he's 45 years old. In all likelihood, he's going to spend those remaining years on championship contenders, not wasting away with an already out-of-shape and past-his-prime AD and other various scrubs on the LA Lakers. The rings argument (as faulty as it is) will fall away like all the others in time if he wills it. It's very obvious.

You should be arguing statistical peak, not something as silly as team titles. Even though LeBron's peak was similarly high, at least there's a semblance of an argument to be made there.

Of course it comes crashing down too when you look at the totality of their careers now.

Sassy Squatch 02-08-2023 01:20 PM

Again, who is bringing him in? You can pretend that Lebron had nothing to do with the current state the Lakers roster is in all you want but anyone with half a brain knows that's not the case.

What organization is going to want to bring in LeBron James to be their #2 on a championship contender? Uh, maybe all of them?

You did just see Mark Cuban trading for the colossal headache that is Kyrie Irving a couple of days ago right?
