Didn't he go to prison or was that just the rumor back in the day?

I haven't posted on the Planet in about as long as MrBlond, however I did recently find out that he is in fact in prison. He was sentenced to life in prison, however wasn't sentenced until sometime in 2006. What he was doing between 2004 and 2006 I do not know. I have contacted him through mail and asked if he'd like me to release more details and also if he'd like to write an update letter/anything on the Planet. I have yet to receive a reply.

From yesterday:

Okay guys, this is going to seem really ****ing weird. I was just looking at some of my old posts that I have rep for and found this (Yes Buck, my rep goes back to 2008). I did NOT post this and I have absolutely no idea who the hell did, swear to God. The last I remember about this whole situation was looking at this thread one night and vaguely mentioning something to my roommate about it because he was always doing weird shit with prison inmate search websites (looking up people from Forensic Files episodes and writing them letters). My best guess is my roommate at the time did something stupid when I wasn't on my computer, I already tried to call him and I haven't yet got through to ask him. I feel like a complete jackass because of this post. Ultimately, I guess this is good news because he's probably not in prison, but I still feel like a ****ing idiot. The only reason I'm thinking it wasn't my roommate is because he referred to CP as "The Planet", but I'm still positive it wasn't me.

Also, I have never done drugs and I don't even drink so I wasn't intoxicated and did it being stupid and forgot or anything like that. This is just weird, sorry for anyone who read this and was affected by it.

Dave Lane 12-24-2010 12:28 PM

Weird maybe the roommate found him and wrote him and then posted this.

TLO you are charged with solving this mystery. We expect weekly reports!

Maybe he died?

Maybe he had to go in the witness protection program?

Maybe he was going on the lam from debt collectors?

or maybe he just went to prison?

wazu 09-18-2020 08:19 PM

His avatar says his location is "South of the Border". Has this been explored? Could mean that prison was likely but he was making his escape. At that time, there would have been no safe/easy way to post here without leaving an online trail.

BigRedChief 09-18-2020 08:29 PM

One of the best posters who ever was on this site.

lcarus 09-18-2020 08:35 PM

Damn 2004? That was before I even lurked around here. Still had 2 seasons left with Dick Vermeil.

That's certainly a good theory.

Another theory is that he was an alien sent here to observe us, and he was sent back to his home planet. It makes a lot of sense if you read his farewell message. It wasn't health that stopped his posting; it was physics.

We'll know if we someday receive a message from him across the galaxy, but it's likely that it'll be thousands of years from now. Maybe we should sticky this thread.

I cannot believe it's been 16 years since 2004. The passage of time really freaks me out. I don't know why. Getting old and decades going by didn't creep up on me. Always knew it was gonna happen to me like everyone else. I heard a classic rock song the other day and realized....this song is 50 years old. Ugh. Crazy.

scho63 09-18-2020 08:48 PM

Here are things he posted about himself:

Date of Birth
February 1st, 1968 (52)

Name: Steve

Occupation: Graphic Arts Technical Service Representative

Could these be fakes? Possible but back then internet stalking and getting doxxed didn't exist. Who would put that occupation down as a fake?

Was he a copy repair man who glorified his job with a fancy title?

Did he repair printing presses?

Could he have killed someone with his car while drunk or on drugs?

Just a real interesting ending, kinda like the DB Cooper of CP. ;)

Wouldn't be one bit surprised if Mr. Blonde is regular poster that planted a seed and watching it blossom and laughing. It's almost up Clayton's sleeve but he doesn't have the this kind of patience to my best guess.

AustinChief, speak up!!!

Halfcan 09-18-2020 09:33 PM

Mr. Blonde has not been seen since he jumped out of a hijacked TWA plane with a million bucks in a backpack.

Well, he either wanted to leave and was too nice to say so. In fact, even went as far as to lie about it. I doubt that was the case. So the only other option is that he had no choice but to leave. And I can't really think of anything that would force someone to definitively leave an internet message board forever like that. Other than what...prison or death? Maybe I'm just not using my imagination enough. But digging into his post history, his 2nd to last post was 24 hours before his last post. It was in the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas thread and the post was "Oh, I'm getting a 'fro". That doesn't really help much. Maybe he's still playing San Andreas?

Simply Red 09-18-2020 10:52 PM

well all i can add is someone, as we've gone along here, over the years on CP mentioned he posted on the Royals board a lot and dropped his username (on that board) here. I didn't see it in his thread, but I can find it if you all wanna keep going at this. I love mysteries like this and will waste a week researching. But maybe Mo is right - just let it rest, his mentioning it was personal, and all.

I don't know. I'd make the worst detective. I'll investigate something for like 2 minutes with no luck and then I'm like "**** this. I give up!"

BoxWine_Stouffers_TubeSock 09-19-2020 12:06 AM

Sounds to me like he fell in love with some crazy bimbo and she told him it was either her or the sports. These things happen. My uncle isn't even allowed to leave the house or talk to anyone. Been that way for decades now

Mystery solved.

Hello Baby Lee - I will have you know I thought about you today when I was at Chipotle. It was raining and slightly windy outside, I gazed out the window and thought deeply about where we'd be had things gone differently.

I agree it was prison/lam related, but here are a few alternate theories:

1. he was a sex or gambling addict and realized that he couldn't be on the internet and properly recover. However, this goes against the "not health related" premise.

2. He was a terrorist.

3. He had a spiritual awakening, realized that he needed to sell his belongings and move to South America where he can help fight deforestation in the Amazon.

4. He worked for the FBI and moved to Juarez to fight the cartels.

It could be as simple as his wife being unhappy that he spent so much time on the internet to him deciding his time can be better spent elsewhere.
