Sounds about right. Wish we were that creative at the position.

That's more because of the game plan than anything. As soon as the Chiefs opened things up we started moving the ball. Reid even said this in his after game press conference.

Most of the plays we were running were snap-one read quick pass, snap-one read quick pass. That's not Alex Smith's fault.

But at the end of the day we won the game. I don't care how it happened, just keep winning..

Our offense and Alex Smith did enough to win the game and they didn't turn the ball over. As long as they keep doing that I'll be happy. Hopefully with how they played at the end of the Bucs/Broncos game Reid will start opening the playbook up more. Plus Maclin should be back soon. That'll help as well.

I have confidence in Alex Smith. He'll be fine.

Our running game misses Charles. Ware is good and so is West but our running game isn't what it has been.

No doubt about it

While its great that we werent left with a bunch of garbage at the position, JC was in a league of his own... I still hold out faint hope that he is back for the playoffs

Not saying it is the reason we are studdering on offense but throw in the fact we are 3rd in the league in drops. It all works together. I hope we get healthy as we roll through the rest of the season.

The best OL of the last decade can't keep Romo from getting hurt. You think arguably the worst OL in the NFL is gonna keep him upright?

Seems like i have seen more than 21 dropped passes.

Harris and Kelce have that between the two of them it seemed

I checked a couple sites & they all seem to consistently have Kelce as the 2nd most drops in the league at 6. Just checked on Harris, looks like he has 5, but the really crazy thing is he has only been targeted 20 times. Which means he drops 25% of the passes thrown his way.

With that said "drops" are somewhat of a subjective stat, some things that I would consider a drop may not be officially counted. Which is why I checked several places, and also may explain why it may seem like there's been more.

Then check out Kelce's drop rate. It isn't top 10....or top 25.

I'm honestly of the belief that Smith is just a rhythm passer. When they speed the offense up, he gets drastically better. This week they need to speed the offense up a bit. Whereas when he's playing a slow ball control offense, he's just not good. Speed the offense up and make the defense react to the offense.

"We have a general idea, based on a collection of film, of what this guy is capable of, but we can't stack the box and force this QB to beat us on intermediate to longer passes, because he will do exactly that".

Are you saying that the NFL D-Coordinators have the formula for beating the Chiefs by exploiting Alex Smith's weaknesses?

I wonder why they do not coach their players to execute those plans because the Chiefs have won a lot of football games with Alex Smith.

I agree. When they are in a groove they push and make shit happen. Maybe speeding up gives them less time to make a mistake. Going back to Kelce when he made the final catch with :15 left he jumped up and started celebrating away from the huddle. Showboat after the game and get back to the huddle.

Maclin has had his share of drops also. It would be nice to have production with the money we are shelling at WR 1 since everyone is complaining about money spent at QB1
