It's all speculation but if he ran away from the scene because his buddies are hiding something it shows his priorities are off and not a guy that can be counted on.

Obviously we need to wait to find out what happened.

Moore or Toney for sure, but not the guy who was likely gonna go for 1300 and 10 this year.

Because of my Respiratory Therapist background with a shit ton of trauma experience, I can never pass a wreck on the road if medical isn't there yet. Even if I've not used those skills in 30 years.

Better to have it happen before the draft than after.

My only thought is that he was the driver and they ran to figure out who is taking the fall, if possible, and get stories aligned. The problem is that dashcam footage pretty well shows what areas of the vehicle each person came from. It's not crystal clear but motion goes a long way.

If I’m Veach (purely from a football perspective), Rice is a guy that I’m going to get 3 cheap years out of then trade as of right now.

Rice would have to earn my trust back before getting paid.

He’s got a couple years to do it. Hopefully, this is a wake up call before something much worse happens.

saphojunkie 03-31-2024 03:00 PM

Are we confirmed he was actually there

Womble 03-31-2024 03:00 PM

I wonder how different this thread would look if it was Skyy Moore who had allegedly done this. A guy who like Rice hasn't really shown any character defects since joining us, but unlike Rice is also a shitty WR.

I think there would be a lot less sympathy for him.

And by sympathy I'm not talking about how you think the Chiefs should internally deal with it. Obviously it's going to be easier to cut ties with a bad player.

Chiefs would be wise to see Rice as a luxury (for awhile at least).

I wouldn’t want to depend on him by any stretch.

We really need a LT. They are so expensive and we could have 5 years of control too.

I don’t think the Chiefs will release him but it won’t surprise me if we lose him for an extended period of time. Depends on the details, but not looking good.

Kiimo 03-31-2024 03:00 PM

There is no warrant issued for his arrest, right?

The police are simply seeking him to talk about his connection to the accident.

That means he has no motivation to "be found" quickly. Am I right?

It's like the Hill thing all over again.

We don't know the facts of the case or what's likely to happen. Last time that led to us taking Hardman.

kccrow 03-31-2024 03:01 PM

I drove 150 mph when I was young too so I can't really say shit about the "why." Granted it wasn't on a Dallas freeway. Thankfully, I didn't have a $250,000 sport-tuned whatever to do it in.

If we can win SB's without Tyreek Hill then we can win without Rashee Rice.

Love the football player but this incident combined with him yelling at Mahomes in a game makes me think he isn't very bright.
