God I hate losing to the Cardinals and the Yankees. I know this is a throwaway season, but damn man... I think I heard somebody say the Royals hadn't won a series vs the Yankees in ten straight series. That's pathetic.
|
BTW: Did Salvy get hit in the junk last night? Damn Yankees....

Someone in the KC media needs to ask why the **** is Olivares getting ****ed around so much when it comes to playing time. Not enough bible thumping in the clubhouse? ****in Matheny needs to stroke out or something, so sick of seeing trash playing over guys who may be apart of the long term plans.

There are ways to ask that like a pro. “Mike, is there something Olivares needs to show to earn more playing time? How is he adjusting to the majors? Etc.” Hacks like Petro can approach it like the above, though. They aren’t real journalists and don’t have to be accountable to the managers and players every day. |
I do agree that the beat writers that are assigned to the Royals have really lobbed softball questions at both Matheny and GMDM all year long. We're on pace for yet another 90 to 100 loss season, and that is just not acceptable. I will never EVER tolerate being a bottom feeder. Royals have been doormats too many times in their team history. Get up off the mat and get back to respectability. The press needs to ask those hard questions about the "long term plan" and ask them often.
|
Quote:
They sure don't mind nagging Andy Reid about back flips or why certain players missed voluntary camps. Idk why they don't have a problem asking a HOF coach and maybe the best ever some tough questions, but when it comes to a shit franchise like the Royals they completely avoid anything that refuse to ask those kinds of questions. |

Why is Mondi such a brokedick. Why is AB hurt so often Why did Soler and Dozier fall off the map Why is Keller getting hit so hard All they’re going to say is “hell if I know” |

I agree with that. What else do you want to ask them?

Is it just me, or is Terry Bradshaw a shitty hitting coach? Our approach at the plate when Dale Sveum was the hitting coach seemed to be a lot different.
I could just be completely wrong, but we seem to strike out on pitches out of the strike zone more than any time I can ever remember. Yes, our home runs and slugging percentage is better now, but that could be due to having better power hitters than ever before. I get sick of watching our right handed hitters weakly whiffing at pitches low and outside. Except for Salvy, he strikes out on those same pitches, but he swings hard. Dozier can't hit a breaking ball to save his ass. Nobody should throw him a fastball or change EVER. Nothing but sliders and curveballs. He'd be out of baseball in six months.
|
In his last 15 games Soler is hitting over .300, so you have to wonder why he was sucking so bad for the first half of the year under Bradshaw's watch?

He was on fire before the trade, it would also take a hitting coach a little more time with a player to make that big of a difference.

I'm not going to post it, but someone was optioned back to AAA for an extra reliever.

Moore and Matheny need to be optioned the hell away from KC.

I'd rather he be in Omaha getting everyday reps than playing 2 days a week so Ryan O'Hearn can play the OF (poorly). But this was a tendency of Matheny's in STL. Gross to see it rearing its head here. |
Hopefully Sherm tells skunkhead and his bf improvement next year or you're both gone
|
I get you need an arm for tonight after last night. But none of the relievers that pitched have options?

Don't see how Sherman can sell keeping these guys around.

Well, there's another Salvydong for a 2 run lead.
Which is also his 28th, a career high for him. |
Lynch looking good so far!
Been impressed with this kid, you could tell he had good stuff when he was doing poorly earlier. Just had to learn how to pitch MLB. |
Royals trying to hit 300 ft home runs.
|
Who is that loud sumbitch that you hear yelling randomly whoo at all the home games? Gotta be at every game, unless they work there.Surely its not Slugger is it ?
|
I want Stormchasers on Ballys KC, not Royals games.

SALDONG X 2

Sal has a shot at 40 homers! Almost assured of hitting 35.

While that’s one way to bunt it

A cool thing about Sal is that him continuing to somehow improve offensively only adds to the legend of those 2014-2015 squads, especially since he got the walkoff in 2014 and the MVP in 2015.

I think 4 more quality seasons (All-Star selections; 25+ HRs) and he's in Cooperstown.
|
Terry Bradshaw has been the major league hitting coach since 2018 and was there during Soler’s and Dozier’s best times of their career.
It is the players’ jobs to develop their skills and succeed in the major leagues. Soled and Dozier used their good stats earned while Bradshaw was hitting coach to get more dollars on their contracts. It is the player’s job to play like a big leaguer. |

Great series so far against the yanks. I'm going to the game tomorrow, it'll be my fourth of the year and 2nd time seeing Singer - 8 and 11 year old sons in tow. Going to try and make the Yanx BP if they decide to have it, our seats are behind the visiting dugout, figure that will be a show. It's going to be hot so I don't know how long we'll last. I remember some insane performances, moments and plays by both the Royals and Yankees over the years. My boys have never seen the yankers play, I hope they get a memory or two out of it.
|
[QUOTE=louie aguiar;15778566]Interesting that his first major league hit came against Wade Davis.[/QUOTE/]
During his career, especially when he was more effective - I wonder how many rooks having a first at bat got a hit off him? I agree with you that it's interesting, not being a condescending ****. |
****ing can't wait to see that **** head DM and Matheny somewhere else. ****ing Olivares has a higher OPS than pretty much everyone and he's just told to **** off. How is the media not saying anything about this?

Any manager would rightfully DH Salvy tomorrow, with the day off coming but after his monster game and based on what he said in the postgame interview. I'd be willing to bet he starts at catcher tomorrow. He said they are going to keep fighting every game. I'd lay a hundo with the books at 49 homers total and bats at least .280 the rest of the way. It's a sentimental bet but he's having the best season of his career.

I hate the Yankees but imagine Salvy with the yanx the past ten years. They might have won 5 or more WS. So glad he is on our team.

Tomorrow I'm going to post the proof that Dayton Moore's the luckiest mother****ing GM to ever win a WS. Be prepared for a long post that most of you will not read.
|
Quote:
He didn’t luck into drafting Hosmer, Moose, Duffy and Holland. He didn’t luck into the contract extension he signed Greinke to, a critical one that allowed him to trade for Cain and Escobar. Two players he correctly thought would excel in the dimensions of the K. He didn’t luck into the coaching that was critical for Cain staying healthy for a baseball season, and Gordo reviving his career in the outfield and at the plate. He didn’t luck into James Shields and Wade Davis, and made the trade in spite of leaguewide scorn. He didn’t luck into trading for Cueto and Zobrist, giving away a piece in Manaea that even got scorn from Billy Beane. These pieces put the Royals over the top. Really the only argument one could make is that his buy-low free agents (BBQ Ed Volquez, Kendrys Morales, Chris Young, Ryan Madson, Franklin Morales, Alex Rios and even Butera) which are typically very hit or miss, all turned out to be aces in 2015 (even Rios in the postseason). But this amount of luck is required for basically every WS winning team and the core of this team (without these FA's) had made the WS the previous year. This narrative about him lucking into the win is more and more prevalent over Twitter, but it does a huge disservice to that squad. Has Moore always seemed weirdly fundamentalist? (thinking of the time he said Salvy’s out of wedlock child was “nothing to celebrate”) Yes. Has the game passed Moore now? It may have, but it doesn’t take away from the team that was built in 2014-2015. |
So Bobby Witt Jr has another HR and Melendez is promoted to AAA a couple days ago and just sits the bench in his first game with the Storm Chasers. ****in stupid Dayton.

Has any other small market team won a World Series since Dayton Moore became GM? Dayton Moore is one of the best and he also was a big part of the Royals outreach and things like Urban Youth Baseball Academy. The Royals have built up a lot of goodwill with player agents and college managers by paying minor leaguers during COVID. Being a principled person pays off if you have good principles and treat people right. If you had Dayton Moore's integrity, you should never post about the Royals until there is a change. |

Dayton isn't even close to one of the best and I'm sure he's building lots of goodwill by not letting a young guy that is showing he may just be a part of our future, actually play. |
Quote:
Just like everyone here knows you do not have the integrity to stay uninterested even though you say you will be as long as Moore and Matheny keep their jobs, everybody knows that the prospects will get the opportunity. This is not a playoff year, but the Royals are in good position to compete for playoffs for the next 5-6 years and possibly longer. |

Is the plan with Singer just to continue to let him get bombed until he realizes that a third pitch is really important for a major league starter?
