Apparently Nate Taylor reported that the Chiefs are very happy with where Baker is in his rehab.
|
I still want Breeland back. I’d rather kick Ward to the curb after this season

They went after that san fran corner in fa and haven't added anyone of note since. Same thing with Ingram so i would be very surprised if we don't get a CB and DE before camp starts tbh.

Clark/Jones/Reed/Houston on pass downs. :Pinky: Come home, Justin. Face nothing but single coverage and generally be regarded as the third or fourth most dangerous member of the unit. Ingram and Kerrigan would be OK, too. But Houston has enough left in the tank, IMO, for that to be a really elite unit. |

I dont remember any CB smoke except the nickel guy from San Fran and no Edge except Ingram. It makes me think theyre fine with what they have unless the deal is right or its a player they covet.

Keep ****ing doubting Malik Herring.
|
The Chiefs have Frank Clark, Michael Danna, Taco Charlton, Joshua Kaindoh, Tim Ward, Demone Harris, and Austin Edwards as our DEs. We also have Georgia/UDFA Malik Herring who is recovering from an injury.
One of the best ways to help the secondary, is to have a good pass rush and I don't believe we have the players currently to do that. |

There are several free agents or potential free agents that might be able to help.
Melvin Ingram - South Carolina/Chargers, Age 32, HT 6-2, WT 247, Arms 31 ½” 2020 stats – 7 games, 10 tackles, 0 sacks, 2 PD||2019 – 13 games, 48 tackles, 7 sacks, 5 PD Justin Houston - Georgia/Chiefs/Colts, Age 32, HT 6-3, WT 270, Arms 34 ½” 2020 – 16 games, 25 tackles, 8 sacks, 1 FF||2019 – 16 games, 44 tackles, 11 sacks, 2 FF Jerry Hughes – TCU/Colts/Bills, Age 33, HT 6-2, WT 254, Arms 33” 2020 stats – 15 games, 29 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 3 PD, 2 FF||2019 – 16 games, 23 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 3 PD Could save Bills $6,350,000 by cutting. Maybe one of these two might be our 5th DE -
Tim Ward – Old Dominion/Chiefs, Age 23, HT 6-6, WT 255, Arms 34 ½” 2020 stats – 1 game, 5 tackles, 1 sack||2019 – 0 games Kamalei Correa – Boise St/Ravens/Titans/Jaguars/Chiefs, Age 27, HT 6-3, WT 250, 31 ½” 2020 stats – 9 games, 9 tackles, 1 PD||2019 – 16 games, 37 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 PD But that's still not very good and it certainly won't scare an offense. |

We now have the best interior pass rush duo in the league. Who else has 2 interior guys capable of double digit sacks? Yes, we should absolutely sign somebody like Ingram or Houston, but this idea that our pass rush hasn’t been addressed at all is silly. You’d be hard pressed to find many teams with a trio as good as Clark, Jones, and Reed. |
There is another free agent, but he's a OLB not a DE and he is 32 just like many of the free agents above.
He also wants to get paid. He has refused to sign so far with Seattle because he has said he won't sign for a hometown discount. I'd like to see this signing as a OLB/DE. I think he could be a difference maker for KC. K.J. Wright – Mississippi St/Seahawks, Age 32, HT 6-4, WT 246, Arms 35” 2020 stats – 16 games, 86 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 PD, 1 FF, 1 INT||2019 – 16 games, 132 tackles, 11 PD |

I like our interior defensive line and I agree that they will be good at providing a push on the QB.
|
Looking back at the initial posts in this thread, Beach hit a home run.
Also got lucky we wiffed on Silverback and JuJu, IMO. |
I'm not saying the Chiefs and Brett Veach haven't done anything to improve the defense and pass rush.
I love many of the moves that have been made. I'm looking at what the Chiefs have now at DE and I have these concerns. 1. When and where will Frank Clark decide to turn it on? 2. Will Taco Charlton be able to make it through a season healthy? 3. What kind of a player will Joshua Kaindoh be and can he stay healthy? |
Quote:
2) Taco/Danna/Ward/Wharton/Kaindoh give us some clay for Daly and Spags to work with. 3) Reed makes our interior pass rush better. Edge rushers are somewhat devalued when QBs get the ball out in 2.5 or less. |

If we'd added a guy with 8 sacks last year at DE and stood pat at DT nobody would be complaining. But we added a DT with that level of production, so everybody's wringing their hands. |
Quote:
And don’t forget about how creatively we used Sneed on corner blitzes towards the end of last year. I know that’s a gimmick that you shouldn’t rely on, but it’s on tape, and the threat of it is another dimension offenses might have to account for and adjust to. And you can bet Spags is planning on them doing exactly that |
If Taco can hold up, I think we’re fine there. But obviously we can’t bank on that, and I have little faith in Ward or Danna as pass rushers. Find a proven edge rusher. And sign Breeland yesterday.
Let’s go, Bart....nice work so far but cap it off. |

It would be cool if those two Michigan alums would make a pact to kick ass this year. Both have something to prove in a big way. Both are probably gone if they don’t step up. Both should be fighting for their careers.

Also KC signs DB Manny Patterson, Maine 5-10, 180.
