MJ isn't beating the 73 win Warriors, that's for sure. Not when a play like this was necessary to get it done:

Lol, yeah MJ could NEVER do something like that. Unless he did it better, at 41:

Still curious about your response to the question I asked. You are starting to approach Knowmo territory by ignoring posts you don’t want to answer and instead positing tweets and videos to defend your case.

Megatron96 05-30-2023 09:11 PM

This is a pretty odd conversation. I mean, having an argument about who's better or the GOAT is one thing, but calling MJ a fraud is just Flat-Earther-level lack-of-IQ nonsense.

I never called MJ a fraud. A fraudulent GOAT perhaps, but he's legitimately the 2nd best player ever. I was referring to what Barry calls him (and also Brady who very much is a fraud).

I'll answer your question with a question. Why wouldn't you care about the greatest basketball player who ever lived? Why wouldn't anybody? It's literally history.

And nobody here claimed imaginary titles (unless you count those won by the KD Warriors):

Take Lebron off the Heat super teams and replace him with Jordan. Do they lose to the Mavericks? Does Jordan need a last second three from Allen after he missed to avoid losing to the Spurs and possibly having one ring to show for the super team?

NBA Final Record:

Jordan 6-0
Lebron 4-6 (despite personally building a super team). If not for a last second three by Ray Allen off a Lebron miss, He would be 3-7 with three losses just to the Spurs, and one ring total out of his super team.

Better Movie:

Jordan-Space Jam ($250 million worldwide in 1996)
Lebron- Space Jam A New Legacy ($144 million in 2021)

Fact is Lebron is Brady in the sense that a lot of his numbers are a result of playing forever and being relatively healthy. For as good as he is, he has very few things in which he has over Jordan. The reality is that had Jordan not gone to play baseball, there was a very strong chance that he would have won 9 NBA Championships in a row. He also played his early career when the game was far more physical and yet still excelled. He is a great player, but he is no Jordan regardless of what Barry has to say.

I really see no way that the Heat can win this series, but I'll be intently watching tomorrow night to witness the unthinkable.

Also, does Herro not want to play? Says his hand is still "sore". I don't really like that in a player. I'd want my guy to be clawing to get out there ASAP. Now if I'm a Heat fan I don't know that I want him to play, though. They've been better without him but you aren't gonna shoot 43% every series.

I don't like Herro as a player at all anyway (and I would suggest they haven't been hurt at all by his absence because it makes them a much better defensive team). Eventually their lack of scoring will catch up to them though.

Honestly if the Heat win Spolstra needs to be given more credit for being a top HC.

SOOO this is the 2023 NBA thread and we have both teams for the Finals and some how we have a circle jerk about LeBron being posted.

LeBron is one of the great players of this game! NOW lets get on with the finals of this 2023 season.

I'd like to see the Nuggets win one finally but I also like the idea of the underdog Heat just going all the way. I will be rooting for the Heat and expect the Nuggets to win out. IF Miami wins they have to be one of the best teams in a long time. They have beaten top seed talent while barely getting in to the playoff scenario. Really a great run overall.

True. Denver knocking off the LA Fightin' Lebrons so quickly gave them a ton of rest and they very well could be rusty, but at the same time Miami might struggle some after coming down from the emotional high of Game 7.

They should as they are the better team. They are getting one of the easiest opponents they could get for this finals. I will say that Butler is a beast and Spolestra is an underrated coach. I would not be shocked to see it go 6 or 7 games.

You clearly missed the tweet about their respective competition in those Finals from yesterday. The clear implication there is that some titles (i.e. beating a 73 win team coming back down from 3-1) are worth much more than others.

Better start taking away football championships from NCAAF programs for nearly a century then, I guess.

How is it apples to oranges? In the absence of a postseason tournament in football (which is a relatively new invention), NCAAF teams who were at the top of the polls were considered national champions for nearly a century.

If you aren't recognizing KU in the same way for 2020, you better start telling those schools to stop it.

In rules that were well established before the season. The season was canceled in 2020 as the tournament is the only thing that matters in deciding a champion.Burrito Bill doesn't even acknowledge it. Sorry you lose

Sassy Squatch 06-01-2023 01:49 PM

That gives them credit for their accomplishment. Finished #1 in the AP poll. Great. That's not how the NCAA determines champions in basketball and even the School knows that. Hence why they don't claim that as a championship season.
