Granted this is a Reds blog, but it's still a great example. Kluber hit Matt Holiday in the hand accidentally and knocked him out of the game on May 13th.

A couple innings later, Jason Kipnis gets one straight in the back from John Lackey.

https://redlegnation.files.wordpress.../05/kipnis.gif

And they actually hit Kipnis a second time later in that game. All over an accidental HBP that knocked a player out of a game. Granted there's a bunch of Reds whining on that blog, but even some of the commenters say that's just baseball. You take someone out, one of your guys is going to wear one. You can certainly argue it shouldn't be that way, but that's how they play the game.

So get on that high horse Cards fan. Get on up there.

And even with that, he didn't go at his head, dumbass.

Why does a Cardinals fan care about Blue Jays players stealing signs and hanging heavily padded elbows over the plate?

I don't know how to add tags - but if someone could add "Willie Aikens' Shart" - I'd really appreciate that.

Not one time did the Royals intentionally throw at Donaldson's head, dumbass

And with a changeup at that.

duncan_idaho 08-03-2015 08:57 AM

I missed the game yesterday (at my grandma's 80th) but caught up this morning over coffee and breakfast...

Anyone who thinks you're trying to hit a guy intentionally with a changeup is an idiot...

Anyone who thinks you're intentionally hitting a guy on the 7th pitch of an at-bat in the late innings of a close game is an idiot...

The pitch Madson threw that almost hit Donaldson WAS an inside fastball, made more inside by: 1) Donaldson being 5-8; 2) Donaldson crowding the plate; 3) Donaldson diving in to every pitch. If that had hit him, he would have been run, and I wouldn't have complained. It would have been in line.

Donaldson's reaction - and the way he showed up the umpire - was out of line, though. And isn't going to win him any fans among that fraternity.

Why? His changeup still reaches mid-80s and he had a warning on him. Fastball there and his day is done. An 85 mph pitch to the head is worse than a 95 mph pitch to the back. Are pitchers so stupid that they aren't trying to manipulate the ump when trying to nail someone?

They think they could push other teams around.

But when they encounter someone bigger than them for a day, it pisses them off because they're just not used to that.

Yes.

And we gave them a dosage of our medicine that left a bad taste in their mouths.

Have you ever thrown a changeup?

If you'd ever thrown a changeup, you'd know why not.
