But Ok they have across the board been beat on plays. They have all been called for holding, false starts ECT. There has been pressure on Smith from both sides at times. Smith has made time with the fact that he can be mobile but that doesn't mean the line has been good. Just this last game Brandon Albert who declared the offseason he was a "top 5" LT got a bad holding call. And he got beat on a play. He's a vet why is Fisher the only one you people bash constantly when others have at times been just as bad. Well other then he's not who you wanted and some of you just can't get over it and need to whine

You're still not being specific.

If Geno Smith was a ****ing embarrassment to the position he'd get rightly criticized.

Quarterbacks are given time. OTs get less grace period, and even less when they're at the bottom of their respective position group.

You should. It's really quite remarkable what a waste of a pick he has thus proven to be.

Something to back up my claims

Since I'm not allowed to post links I tried you go to espn Offensive line rankings we are ranked 18th with more neg plays on the left side then the right.

Who conducts the ranking/evaluation?

Does it account for pass vs. run?
How does it rank plays involving pulling guards (if you rank the SS low and the PG high, do you get a balance or neutral ranking?)
Does it account for failed responsibilities + effective play (i.e 68 pro and off tackle has a bad cut but still slows down DE for ball to get out without altering platform?)

RealSNR 10-10-2013 11:00 PM

Matt, do you know what a run-on sentence is?

my mistake it was nfl.com rankings and

nfl.com/stats/categorystats?role=TM&offensiveStatisticCategory=OFFENSIVE_LINE&tabSeq=2

You can see for yourself though o line stats seem to be hard to fine I guess not many people care about that stuff

I am curious what percentage of plays opponents stack safeties in the box against the Chiefs and how that compares to the rest of the NFL.

I Would think quite a bit seeing that Reid runs Quick short passes and we have the Charles factor

Nightfyre 10-10-2013 11:10 PM

I would think quite a bit given that Alex Smith has no capability to punish teams deep.

Yes lets ignore that fact that Smith threw the ball downfield to Avery a bit this year. Including on the game winning drive when we were backed up in our own endzone That didn't happen

Nightfyre 10-10-2013 11:16 PM

Yes, I have confidence that Alex Smith can put a ball in a 15 foot by 15 foot box at thirty yards. It's really too bad he can't put it in a bread box so his receiver can actually do something after catching the ball.

So if I were to mention Smith's getting over 11 ypc you wouldn't talk about YAC RIGHT

11 YPC is not good.

Alex ranks 27th this year in YPC.

That's our Alex!

PS - Geno ranks #2 in the NFL. I know, I know. Stud.

11 ypc is pathetic. Especially in a system based on passes specifically designed to extract YAC in-lieu of a running game.

It's not far off from where Donovan was in Reids system that's the thing you guys don't want to talk about Reid doesn't run a AIR THE BALL out system ALex runs his coaches offense

That was 10 years ago.

Hammock Parties 10-10-2013 11:24 PM

The year the Eagles went to the SB, McNabb was 4th in YPC.

We done here?

Nightfyre 10-10-2013 11:24 PM

That's funny, Alex has similar YPC no matter what system he seems to be running.

Yes because it's fair to look at 1 season not overall

How many playoff wins did they have with Donovan? How many trips to the AFC title game did they have with Donovan?

It might have been 10 years ago but Reids System is still his system though I'm sure he has tweaked it a bit

Matt Cassel YPC, through the years:

10.8
11.9
10.7
11.2

The Geno haters are real mad now that he just had his best game.

I mean, can you imagine if Alex Smith went 16-20 for 3 TDs on the road against a team that was in the NFC Championship last year.

Last week was a nightmare scenario for the Alexcusers.

And you geno lovers no that if it had been Alex and not Geno you would be saying Ya but the Falcons D sucks. He has beaten up on The Bills and the Falcons Defense congrats

It's a good start for him. Something that he can build off. But he has struggled and been a turnover machine going against good defense and hell he even turned it over against the Bills Funny how 1 GREAT GAME seems to make you say I told you so against one of the worst defense in the NFL

Maybe if Fisher shows major improvement we wont be so hard on him, but so far he hasen't shown his worth pick 1.1 yet Geno has shown would have been worth the risk.

I damn sure would like Eric Fisher be good so we don' have to waste another pick like that. FML 1.1 for a gd right tackle :#

We haven't won a playoff game in twenty years because of jerkoffs who are 27th in the league in YPC and complete 58 percent of their passes.

Geno Smith was not a turnover machine in college and he has owned up to his mistakes in press and so I expect his TDs go up and his INTs go down. He is young and coachable.

I am happy. I enjoy watching football games on Sunday for a change. That doesn't mean I am going to ignore the concrete evidence in front of my face that this offense is impotent and has not sufficiently improved given the level of investment placed in it. Oh and you are called stupid, because frankly, you are being stupid.

True

And I agree his td to Int ratio should improve but he wasn't the right choice when we had a team that had the talent we did. Rookies are turnover machines. That's not a Geno thing that's a rookie QB thing.

So you expect Dorsey and Reid to say you no that talent that we have here we are going to just erase it and start over when guys like DJ and Hali are getting close to the end of there prime they are both closing in on 10 years in the league. You expect them to tell this fanbase who has been through the losing it has we are going to waste that talent and bring in a turnover machine (again a rookie qb thing not a geno thing) to replace a turnover machine and start all over even though we have talent here. They might as well have just said we don't want our jobs

Again what have I said that's not FACT

Just because it doesn't support Geno doesn't mean it's stupid to state the fact.

And not sufficiently improved? Look at the 4th game on the line what has happened we have gone down the field and took the lead or clinched the game EVERY time That's not improved?

29th
30th

Those are the pass defense ranking of the NFCE teams Alex has faced.

Against the Titans, Alex threw 4 balls that probably should have been picked.

We didn't need to pass against Jacksonville.

Generalization with no data to support it. Fantastic job.

True

we have yet to see Alex go against a good d we will then we can talk

And could of would have should have every QB has those. GENO DID have those against the Titans and the LOST Alex WON

Pretty sure I have no say in the matter

Hope that makes you feel better

No, but you are still part of the problem with this 'true fan' base. Think they would learn after the Carl Peterson &Pioli shit quarterbacks from other teams.

I don't have time to aggregate the data, but the Chiefs offense has been gifted the most turnovers in the NFL and has been given the best field position in the NFL (both by wide margins) but still only manages 1.61 points per drive. Good for 17th in the NFL. NOT SUFFICIENTLY IMPROVED.

Peyton manning 28 ints

Big Ben 2x super bowl MVP 17 picks

There's a reason rookies use to always sit for a year or 2

But ya there's no data to support it

KC Punts per drive: .516 Good for 30th in the NFL. Thank you JAX and STL for being worse. (Not even TB is worse.)

How many times in the 4th have we seen turnovers cost us the game late even to some poor teams. A LOT Instead this year we are going down the field and WINNING THE GAME that's not improved really?

You use 2 examples and expect that to be an acceptable sample size?

Are you ****ing inbred? Seriously, what diseased whore did you crawl out from, Captain Afterbirth?

Now I can be happy at 5-0 but with reservations that our offense lead by Alex Smith is not pulling their weight. Get offense moving the ball and scoring drives that we don't have to rely on MVP & muffed punt returns.

Addition by the subtraction of Cassel is not sufficient improvement, no. Keep leaving out the key words, btw. Makes you look really smart.

and what bullshit?

I have stated facts that I've been called stupid for

You are called stupid because of a variety of things.

1) You don't understand simple NFL concepts
2) You can't decipher between they're, their and there.
3) You don't know when to end a sentence and start a new one.
4) You are a kool aid defender that does nothing but try to rationalize and defend the teams dealings, no matter what.
5) You just got here and already have one of the sandiest vaginas on the site.

More facts? Big Ben threw 11 picks in his rookie year. 17 TDs though. Good try there dumbass.
