Teams don't plan to pick in the top 2 - it just happens. Nobody saw the Chiefs as a 2 win team and damn sure nobody figured the Colts as a 1 win team.
Ending up in the top 3 picks in a year where there are legitimate HOF caliber QBs available is going to be luck more often than it isn't.
Go out there, compete, try to make the playoffs and get hot. All the while you should have your eyes towards the next QB if you don't already have one that's a top 5 guy.
If you plan to fail - you're going to. A lot.

Sure. I don't think you ever plan to fail, but if we were a game away from luck or rgIII, I would have gladly taken a loss.
I don't necessarily agree on the top 5 qb thing as I don't think you have to have one that good to be successful in the league. There are just so many good qbs in the league, to have a top 5 guy, your damn near talking generational type player.
