I remember a long time ago I got the “we need to just be friends” speech. And not just “get the F away from me”, it was more like, “no, seriously, we could be good friends”.

I shot off random texts, maybe 3 over the next 6 or 8 weeks, just seeing what was up, friendly stuff. Finally I got a response….from her new boyfriend, saying that I am embarrassing myself, I need to “get over her”, and never attempt to communicate with her again.

Don't younger girls send more pics these days than texts? Instagram, etc?

I've never quite gotten the whole "trying to stay friends" part. Once a relationship is over, I want a clean break. There are too many complications otherwise.

I've stayed friends with one ex. And there was about an 8 year period in there where we didn't see or talk to each other.

I wish this was true with several of my friends.

Seeing/talking to multiple guys at once, she keeps the one she is most interested in one hand, and juggles the others with the other.
