We have an elite level punter. Who needs a QB?

He signed an incentive laden 1 year deal with a team desperate for corner backs. That team was also one of the only two he visited. That should tell you something. Posted via Mobile Device |

Certainly not elite level. Top of the list of 2nd tier QBs. |

Rivers is a guy who's been 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7 in 5 of the last 6 years. And this has been with a team that until Manning arrived was hands down the most talented team in the West year after year according to the media. If Rivers is an elite QB with that kind of output, then Gunther Cunningham is an elite head coach. Rivers is a pretty good QB when the pieces around him are right and he listens to coaches. He's Tony Romo essentially, good but not great to this point... |
Chargers have a secondary of midgets-lol I think they might have the shortest secondary ever in the NFL. They just need to sign Mighty Mouse now!!

I'm far from a Rivers apologist and quite frankly thought he was done a couple years ago, but he's better than he's given credit for. I'd glad we have him instead of, say, Alice Smiff. |

Again, I'm not saying Rivers is a bad QB, but he hasn't proven to be elite. He's kind of in that second tier. I don't think anyone is arguing that Alex Smith is elite, so that's not a great comparison. Was it better to hang on to Rivers than Brees? I think Brees has proven to this point to be the better QB... |
