and think about this, according to QBR, Green's 3rd best start in 2006 was the playoff game, against Indy, where we didn't achieve our first offensive 1st down until midway through the 3rd quarter.

I love Trent Green. He's one of my top 5 favorite Chiefs of all-time. But behind that line, with that team, with his skillset ... he wasn't the QB. Huard was the guy who would throw it to Gonzalez and Bowe and let them do the work. Green was too good. If a guy wasn't open, he'd progress to his next read (like always), and behind that line and Jordan Black he didn't have the time to do it, and he'd suffer. Huard? Huard was a 1-2 read guy who would throw it to Gonzalez if he had nothing else ... and Gonzalez was INCREDIBLE that year. Green was too good to do that. And his play suffered because of it.

And I said that at the time. And I've said it again, and again, and again.

Yet this board is SO STUPID they still think I thought Huard was some sort of franchise QB.

Of course, this board thinks I think Rodgers sucks, and Brady sucks just because I don't give those two every excuse in the book when they don't play well in big moments.

It sucks to be misrepresented, right?

Just like you do to people who don't gargle Wilson's balls like you do?

I'm sorry, BMD. It's good to know that you'd part with 1 (one) first round pick for Russell Wilson, 26 year old, 3 year veteran QB with 6 playoff wins and 2 NFC Championships and 1 World Championship.

Steep price. I'd bet you'd pay $0.75 for a gallon of gas, too, you big spender!

Carson Palmer threw for 4200 yards on the 2012 Oakland Raiders because he was so ****ing bad for 3 quarters he padded his stats in a ton of meaningless 4th quarters

This can't be stressed enough. Passing yards out of context don't mean a ****ing thing.

I'd give 2 for Luck!

How has Greg Jennings fared in Minnesota? You cannot reference their WR's as some sort of "omg the Packers are a model franchise!."

They've also CONSISTENTLY ****ed up drafting OL to protect Aaron Rodgers in the 1st round. They've missed on several DB's and DL, as well. They still haven't found a quality TE, either. Eddie Lacy is ok, not special, and they missed on Brandon Jackson in the 2nd round before that.

It's funny to me that these "model franchises" people always envy seem to also always have that franchise QB. Strange. I know.

Seriously. I've done it 20 times on this board. I will go break down every single Chiefs/Packers draft since Aaron Rodgers and show you that they are no better at drafting than Kansas City and we're working on our 3rd regime over those years.

If Pioli tripped into Aaron Rodgers, Pioli would be revered around here and still in charge.

Right, because Cobb, Nelson, Lacy, Matthews, etc are all bad players without Rodgers.
Come on man.

Cool, man. That represents about 10% of Luck's value. You're getting close.

As we've seen with them all, qbs can't do it alone. They need guys around them to win superbowls.

Saul said it recently, but there's 2 ways to go about it. Stack the team around him, or find an elite guy and hope he can elevate that around him. I think the league is wanting to trending towards finding that ×1 qb and paying him his rookie deal then find another competent one until you find the guy.
easier said than done though.

I also don't think anyone would argue here that while wilson has himself been a good player, his contract or lack there off has been huge to the seahawks

And we're talking a top 5 pick, and a top 15 pick.

Keep in mind, Wilson probably, at best, gets Seattle #20 and #20 the following year

That's what I tried telling someone the other day. Would rather have Eric Fisher and Dee Ford or Wilson?

Thinking as a GM/owner, I'm fearful of giving up 2 picks for him because of the contract he's going to get.

ROFL keep your Jon Baldwin and Eric Fisher. God knows we couldn't live without them

How about Tamba Hali & Dwayne Bowe?

Some of you guys act as if every first round selection ever made by the Chiefs was a piece of shit.

Untrue.

The fact you're arguing Hali/Bowe is more valuable than a franchise QB is hilarious to me

You are ****ing moron incapable of any creative, original or thought provoking ideas and your reading comprehension is zero.

Go have another drink.

Hammock Parties 06-25-2015 04:45 PM

He's right though.

The value those two has provided is not greater than a franchise QB.

Hali had maybe one or two seasons where he was a top 5 player at his position. Bowe, maybe one.
