I must have missed this board, have a link?

Yes. Despite not being a believer in Jimmy G, I do not want to face the 49ers. They have a nice combo of strong D and some nice offensive weapons. I'd rather face any other NFC team if we get to the bowl.

Better be one heck of a “personal reason” not to practice the week of a playoff game and after a bye week...

Those posts where they're doubting the Chiefs defense is for real based on the schedule, someone remind them that Denver came to KC and scored 3 points a week after putting 38 on them in their own house.

This is why he didn’t play week 17. There’s clearly something going on in his personal life.

I actually think that Sammy Watkins is the under the radar guy this week. Texans will be in cover 2 and dime all day trying to defend deep.

Kelce and Sammy will eat in the middle of the field

Sammy’s been so ****ing quiet since that week 1 explosion. He definitely needs to step up.

I watched our last few games on Game pass and I think one of the biggest things that holds Sammy back is unless he’s the 1st read, he just isn’t getting targeted.

The vast majority of plays you have Mahomes hitting Kelce or Hill within his first 2 reads, throwing a screen pass, or getting it out quick in the flats to a RB. There just isn’t much pie to go around for a guy like Watkins.

That said, if you’re getting a lot of 2-high coverage Sunday, I’d look his way often because they don’t have a corner who can cover him consistently and win in contested situations. It’d be nice to scare BAL/TENN with Watkins this week so they might think twice about doubling Hill all the time..

Hopefully no dumb dropped passes from him. I want to see the Sammy from Week 1.

Everyone is going to be afraid of Hill and Kelce no matter what so those guys are going to draw attention. I wouldn't say it's been done on purpose but the lack of use guys like Watkins and Hardman have seen could lull some teams into a false sense of security about how to play defense.

Sammy's actually had some big plays in most of the games he's played in this year. He just hasn't had a complete game where's he's neared the numbers we saw in week 1.

But he's come up with some big time catches for first downs, receptions that have made 3rd down more manageable, and at least one 2-point conversion, throughout the season.

Albeit he has had some inexplicable drops as well. And his overall target/catch ratio hasn't been great, IIRC, something like 60%.

I think Hardman is going to scare teams away from doubling Kelce and Hill consistently

That or he’s going to roast corners in single coverage
