WELL THAT'S HOW THE GOOD TEAMS DO IT

And it's guaranteed to be successful, even if you're relying on it to replace 1/3 of your starters in one offseason!

I'm far from a Rivers apologist and quite frankly thought he was done a couple years ago, but he's better than he's given credit for. I'd glad we have him instead of, say, Alice Smiff.

Yet you just provided said example of being a "River's apologist." LMAO

The Seahawks replaced the same amount of starters from 2011 to 2012 and went to the NFC Championship game. So...

Brandon Flowers' decision to join the San Diego Chargers is both business and personal.

The veteran cornerback, released by the Kansas City Chiefs last week, explained Wednesday on NFL Network how he reacted to the move and his motivation behind agreeing to a deal with the Chargers.

"I was very surprised when it happened," Flowers said on Wednesday's edition of NFL Total Access. "I know I hit the (salary) cap pretty hard, but I thought if I was going to get traded or released it would be in February or March sometime.

"The timing that they did it, it kind of hit me. So that's why I stayed in the division. I want to play the Chiefs again, let them know how I felt about it."

Flowers spent the first six seasons of his career in Kansas City, starting 87 of 88 games and earning a Pro Bowl nod last season. Flowers proved himself to be a staunch self-believer when asked who was the best cornerback in the game.

"Oh, first off, let me just say I'm the best corner in football," he said with a grin. "Let's get that clear. Don't let my injuries last year fool you, or take my name from the top list."

Flowers went on to name Darrelle Revis as the corner he admires most. Like Revis, Flowers has something to prove after being dumped well before his contract was up. Never underestimate the power of motivation.

He can now suck it.

salame 06-25-2014 09:07 PM

I've been saying he sucks for 2 years but do you all agree now because he's not a Chief anymore?

I dont agree to that. My opinion of him as a player hasnt changed. He is pretty good, especially in zone, and is the best CB they have now.

But, I feel like hes bein kind of a douche, so **** em.

Why don't active roster players in KC every show that kind of competitive fire that Flowers has just displayed?

All good CBs are douches. It's a requirement.

Man...I think the Chiefs made a mistake letting him go. As soon as he went down in your playoff game the Chiefs got blown out.

If Flowers would have played as well as a Chief and as well as he says he is and how he says he's gonna play against the Chiefs next season he wouldn't have been cut.
